Ratings,Television, marketing and all0 that B.S. have skewed things a bit.
If I had to have one of them in MY shop and doing things for/with me it would be Jesse James, with out hesitation. I'm not gonna marry him and would not want him dating my friends or daughters but he is still the better craftsman. I can deal with the asshole part...fight fire with fire  Wink

One thing I noticed about Jr's bikes is that his designs for tins are (or at least WERE back when I paid attention) faceted rather than curved. I believe this is because he's a hack who can't really form metal, just cut geometric plates and then weld them together.

Jr. is an artist that aint very good with his paint brush, but he has an artful eye. Sr is the hack, retired welder trying to be everything...Jesse is the craftsman. I think Jess and Paulie would make AWESOME ratings and sell alot of T-shirts together!  YMMV

having met both sr and jr on many different occasions i can say that jr is a princess. he is a spoiled kid that had part of his fathers company handed to him free of charge and abused it. yes sr has a bad attitude/temper and yells alot, but that didnt give jr the right to abuse the relationship and thus the power of being daddy's little boy. and while sr has not stayed up with the technical aspect of building bikes at least he is still something of a gear head. jr, on the other hand has to rely on his TEAM to build his bikes as he cant do it. in all the years of the show jr has never built a gas tank, installed the wiring harness or even took apart a motor. he relied on vinny to do all the real work while he disapeared, managing to come back in time to look like he was  doing some work. yes jr does have an artistic eye, but that is about where it stops once you get past his limited welding ability that he....yes LEARNED FROM HIS FATHER. infact with the exception of his wife and the guy building his tanks EVERY ONE IN JR'S SHOP IS EX-OCC EMPLOYEES. he is a great thief of employees. wether you like sr or not you have to admit he is a smart business man as this is the second empire he has built in his life time. all jr can say is that he used the skills that his father gave him, took ex employees of his fathers and built a company where he is not much more than a mirror image of what his father has become. a figure head of a company that doesnt do much work on the product that they build...as far as the bikes go jesse james's bike looked very uncomfortable to ride but he is a craftsman that is talented. sr's machine was innovative but not a bike and jr's was just for show. i would not want any of them.

Paul Jr. currently has the best looking wife and his dad seemed more attached to his now dead dog than to his lady friend which makes me wonder so between the two in my book that makes Jr. the undisputed winner in the personality department.  Jessie on the other hand is Tiger Woods hero.

Who did Jr steal from OCC that was still working there?  Vinnie and Cody had left long ago.  And if anyone did leave OCC to go to PJD, wouldn't that indicate that maybe they know who they would rather to work for?  Sr might have started OCC, but I think there's an arguement that Jr's designs built it to what it became (along with the circus of a tv show)...and was rewarded with a significant percentage of the company.  Sure, Jr had alot handed to him so he might be a bit of a "princess" as you say.  But he did start his own company that is now competing on a level with the old man.

I would love to find out what the percentages were on the voting. I have looked all over and cannot find them. They showed them on TV the night before the live show and Sr. only had 1% but would like to know the difference between Jr. and Jesse James.....

I voted for Jr, but, I'll say 1 thing.     Only JJ's bike would probably pass the rigid inspection to get a VIN # in California.   From what I have seen of SR & JR's bikes, no way Jose would they get a state issued VIN #.

I've seen JR & SR ride their bikes, but I call them death traps.     I don't have much faith in their welds.

If you notice, they always pull a frame off of the shelf when they start a build.

JJ in my opinion, even though he is an asshole, for screwing around on last wife, she is a sweetheart in my book, builds ALL of his bikes from scratch.   The frame is a bitch to get right without a jig, so I'll say his frames are all the same cause he probably only has 1 jig.

On Hot Rod Power Tour, we stopped at his shop, and he had burgers, chips and a drink for everyone.

He had some wicked wild cars, trucks and etc he had built.     He had a 39 Chevy Coupe, I'd of traded the boss for.    She would have killed him, but I'd at least have had a sweet 39, very similar to the one 1 lost in my garage fire along with the kid's choice Mustang.

I used to love those Biker Buildoffs!  I commented to my son that we saw more bike building in one hour of Biker Buildoff than we did in three hours of this awful spectacle.

As far as Senior Vs. Junior,.....IMHO, Junior's designs is what kept the doors open at OCC.  You can see a huge difference in the bikes Jr. designs vs. what that nut at OCC designs.  Also, there was a huge decrease in OCC's corporate theme extravaganzas when Jr. and Mikey left.  So much that OCC couldn't pay their mortgage.  Aaaaaaaand, Sr. got verrrrrrrry rich off of Jrs. designs.

Sr, Jr, JJ, well we have to admit one thing,  they keep trying to build something around a Harley motor.  I've seen a lot of builds from all of them, even Injun Joe and a couple of others.  They are nothing but very expensive bar hoppers.  No comfort, no fuel mileage, tank at a 45 degree angle and so high up you have to sit on a couple of New York City phone books to see over it.  V-twins are old school(Harley).  Like the plate on Smokin Joe's Yellow  I/S says,  6 Beat 2.  Its starting to look alike after a while.  You can only stretch forks so far, paint in so many styles, weld fancy designs and attach them in strategic places.  Ever since I rode my first Valk, I knew what was cool.  I have told a lot of people who ask about the Valkyrie that this will be my last bike. Our bikes are unique and don't follow the "popular" crowd.  At least I know I can start my Valk from one end of the country to the other and will not have a major breakdown.  The "popular" one will have to have sponsors, escort, on call mechanics, chase truck, parts on call, ect. just to make it across the county line.  But, as always, each to his/her own.  Opinions vary.

rant over

I now return you to the regularly scheduled program, already in progress Grin

That also happened to Billy Lane, exhaust right under the seat.  Had to dose it with water
and put tin foil on it to keep it cooler.

I would buy a JJ bike before I would by one from Jr. or Sr.

They've built bike with "alternative" motors before.  They even built one with a lawnmower motor.
