After careful consideration I have picked a couple mods for the fat lady.  I do this because 1, my wife expects me to do it, 2, I like to do it and 3, the two I picked I have been wanting to do for a while now.
The first one is installing a 3 gallon belly tank for a larger fuel capacity and to eliminate the risk of the dreaded "hydrolock" so many have experienced.  I also ride with a bunch of friends that ride I/S bikes and it will allow us to make stops based on their fuel situation rather than mine.  I still get to use the fuel shutoff valve for reserve if I ever need it.  This mod is about half the price of buying an I/S fuel tank and a Pingle fuel valve.
The second mod is one that I had done to my Vulcan and liked it so much I finally decided to do it to the Valk.  So I will install a Harley inner and outer Batwing fairing.  I think they look good on the Valkyries and they flow air around the rider very good.  I had the Klockwerks windshield and the adjustable wind vents on it and the package made for very comfortable riding conditions in any weather.  The fairing and the Baker air wings should be as good as it gets on the Valk.

An unexpected Christmas bonus accounted for the ability to afford these mods!

Tank, That is a nice install!  I'm using a Harley inner and outer fairing.  As soon as I get them I will see what I need to do to attach them to the windshield brackets.  Did you have to lengthen the wires to mount the gauges in the inner fairing? Also, did you move the headlight forward like some do?  I know I will have to cut the outer fairing to fit it around the Valk headlight.  I had to do the same thing to the vulcan I did this to.

Hey Bernie,
sounds like some good mods. I've often thought about a belly tank, but always talk myself out of it. I think I need to stop about every 100-125 miles to help fight fatigue.
Here is a picture of a members bike from Huntsville Alabama, he did a great job on it. The only time I've seen it was at the wiskey run a couple years ago. The gauges are stock valkyrie. If I ever put one on my tourer it will be like this.

I'd thought about a belly tank. But instead of raising gas to my carb, I'd be draining urine down to it.
My tank was already much bigger than my bladder.   Sad

T-bird,  The inner fairng I am getting will look just like the one in your picture. It should be here in the next day or two along with the belly tank.  I like stopping regularly too, but like the idea that I will be able to go longer if I need to.  I'm looking forward to doing something special to the fat lady.  Almost forgot.  I have some extra baker air wings that I am going to modify to block the wind on my hands during the winter if the fairing doesn't knock the wind off.

Harley styling will make that old girl come alive.

The Batwing is my favorite and apparently a lot of hondas, yamahas, kawasaki riders like them too.

It's a classic shape that never goes out of style.

I think Harley Al was being " cute " . Everyone knows why folks use the Harley fairing ....They are much cheaper to buy  cooldude  Myself I have no doubt that if I mounted a fairing on my bike today....I'd give my bike a Woody  cooldude and get the four 5" coaxial speakers with stereo .I was checking out Hotglues at InZane this year and it looks great and the stereo ROCKS .

I like the options the Harley fairing offers over the other fairings out there.  And I especially like the fact they are less expensive.  The Harley Batwing has stood the test of time.  That is why there are so many variations of it being offered.  Maybe Al will ride with us if my Valk has a little "Harley" on it!
