I met another driver from my company and we had about an hour to talk before he got unloaded. he's another singing truck driver, Joe Lee Smith at
www.smokinjoeleesmith.com

I said hey I know a Smoking Joe   Grin

he was telling me how one of his relatives lives just down the road from Dion Sanders spread in Texas. he claims Deon is out on his tractor working the land.  doesn't really surprise me.

I was always impressed at his athelitic ability, in the NFL you have the best of the best in the world playing. they hit a plateau at the top of the game so it's hard to tell how fast or how hard they get hit. until some one of ecxeptional ability comes along (Reggie White) like Deon. he used to dance around linebackers like they were from pop warner.

my respect always goes way up when I find out those that can pay others to do it for them, do it themselves

He was an AMAZING athlete, even if he did play for Dallas.

that reminds me, I saw him one time get held upright and he got hit laterally on the left shoulder pad. I swear his right ear hole on his helmet was only a foot from his right hip. if that would've happened to me, forget the stretcher call the morgue.

he got up ran to the sideline, kinda stretched abit grimacing.  wow

I always liked Deon. He was both a Falcon and a Brave during his football and baseball careers.

His first year in Braves Spring training, some of his fans from FL State came out and did the tomahawk chop, like they do at Fl State football games, it caught on. They still do the Tomahwk chop at Braves games today.  Shocked

The thing I liked best about Prime Time, was that he could back up his talk with his play, every time!  cooldude

I went to a couple FSU games and watched him back in the day. He was quite an athlete. In (about) 1983, I watched him beat Auburn with a nice punt return

I always enjoyed watching the team that the 'boys had in the nineties. the were fun to watch. especially Emmit Smith, score a TD run off the field. no high fives, weird dances, very classy. I heard an interview with him it was something instilled by a former coach. score? just run off the field like it's no big deal, TD's are what we do.
