I heard this on the radio today. a new treatment for cancer is to inject antibodies that have tiny gold flakes in them. the antibodies seek out the cancer and attach. they put you in a machine that bombards you with radio waves, that pass through you but strike the gold and heat it up.

it burns out the cancer cells, side effects = 0 at this time.

it's in animal trials right now. I'm hoping chemo is going to be a thing of the past, nothing like the cure being worse then the affliction.

Very interesting! Gold would be a heck of a lot cheaper then chemo drugs too!

If the chemo don't kill you, the radiation will.

Wouldn't it be great to have a cure for cancer in our lifetime!

Would love to see a cure after the bout I had with it this summer. Those Doc's get fairly aggressive with a persons body at times. I just wish it didn't mess with a persons mind so much knowing you got something in you that can end it all. Off the soapbox for now.

Wow... You could go and get treatments with gold flakes in it or just go to a Bar and get those Gold Slauger Drinks. Probably Cheaper and you get drunk and treat your illness at the same time.  cooldude

Lets see, surgery, 4 months of chemo, 28 double shots of radiation or a little nano machine with a little gold leaf. If it sounds to good to be true it usually is.

Look into thermaltheraphy(sp?). They've been doing it in Germany for some time now. Heat the body up to a temp that activated the t6(bad, mean)cells - or You can do it with malaria(the only disease that will raise your core temp high enough. Someone look into it and let us know. I just learned about the thermal method a few weeks ago. They monitor  your core temp and keep you hydrated enough to stay alive and let our immune system destroy the cancer cells....

In my fight with Peridontal Mesothelomia, my treatment was a massive debulking, and removal of anything that I could live without followed by hyperthermal Chemotheripy.  They iced me down to lower my core temp and pumped heated Carboplaten through my abdomen for 90 minutes.  All told I was in surgery for 12 hours.  From a couple of months of life expectancy it has given me 3+ years of quality life.  Will know next month if I will have to go through the same drill again.  After surgery, it was a solid month and a half that I knew for sure I was going to survive.  2 months after I had 6 months of chemo using a combination of Carboplaten an alitma.  the Alitma was $22 thousand a hit and took 10min to infuse.  I realize this is the opposite of the above, but it worked for me, and indicates that heat will help kill at least some Cancer cells.

Couldn't have said it better myself.  I just started a new treatment on Thursday and that's what I'm facing.....weather it's even worth it.

Tom, wouldn't that be marvelous if it worked for humans. My oldest is back in the hospital...again. A double mastectomy at age 40, dr. told her after five years she probably had it beat. At eight yrs. it came back and she's been battling it for the last five now. She's 53, had to retire about 3 yrs. early due to all the treatments wearing her down. Like Thumper said, she began to question if it was worth it but stuck to it. She's back on chemo again, how long can they pump a body full of that poison before it kills you? She has a better attitude than I would have through the entire treatment, but I'm afraid if it keeps going as it has recently I'm wondering if she'll be here this time next year. Don't know if I can handle losing a second daughter to that dread disease.

What I read about just used heat to raise our core temp high enough to activate the t6 cells of our immune system - then the t6 cells killed the cancer cells with out bothering the healthy cells. I'm just sayin' maybe somebody smarter than me can check it out....

Once upon a time Penicillin seemed too good to be true. Easy to grow mold that cures infection? Crazy talk.

But it wasn't. Every so often something is all that it claims to be.
