My bike is equipped with a Stebel horn wired through a relay, and a Priority Plus brake modulator that causes the turn signals to act as running lights and pulse on/off when brakes are applied. Recently, my horn stopped working due to water getting into the rely and shorting it out. Went to buy a new one and the shop only has a 5-pole relay (needed a 4-pole) so I took it. Hooked it up and the horn immediately started blasting away  Shocked (scared the crap out of me). I quickly removed the hot lead. Looked at it closely to make sure I hooked it up right, tried again with same results. Went to another store and got the 4-pole relay, hooked it up...and nothing. Horn would not work. I then powered the horn directly and it worked so the horn is not the problem.

Got tired of messing with it and decided to go for a ride. Got about 1/2 mile down the road and noticed my turn indicator lamp wasn't working. Long story short, I had no turn signals or brake light. All lights (headlight, brake and turn) work in the running mode but the brake light would not come on (get brighter) brakes are applied and turn signals will not cycle on/off....they just stay on. Went home and checked everything, fuses grounds on and on. Thought perhaps the Priority Plus took a dump (it has done so before) so I got another one, wired it up...and nothing, CRAP!

Now I'm stuck and don't know what to try next. I was thinking perhaps if I fed power through the ground circuit (if I hooked the relay up wrong), I might have fried the the turn signal relay. But why wont the brake light get bright? Doesn't matter if the hand or foot brake is applied...Check the bulb and it's good.

Any ideas??  Embarrassed

Most likely you hooked the 5 prong relay up wrong and blew the fuse under the right side cover, same fuse for the horn also does turn signals. Is pull them one at a time till you find the one blown

Oh, btw, 4 or 5 prong will work, just hook the wires from the old horn to the magnetic poles, and power and stebil to the normally open poles, not the normally close,  good luck d

Give at man a see-gar! Went back and checked (again) the fuses and sure nuff, one was blown. I had to get in good light to see the top fuse had a very small gap in the filament.

Always check the easy stuff first...and then check it again

Thanks!
