1938 Drake, harley made the engine, and drake did the water cooled thing.
they were used in midget race cars after the war.
saw this on jesse james this morning i thought was interesting.
my dad and i both raced midgets and this was cool to see...

I watched the show as well....Would have been nice if he could have got it to run . Watched the entire show only to see him ride another bike at the end cause the Drake would'nt run  Sad

these engines were built in the 30's and every part now days has to be hand made,
they did run back then and had a butt load of torque and horse power..
I did not start this thread to make it a harley vs honda debate.. but it didnt take long did it?

watch that my self found it to be very interesting and i like the others were disappointed he couldn't get it to run right but still interesting.

Similar to the Drake concept, I saw a few years ago where a guy built a water-jacket around an air-cooled atv engine and raced it.  It was in 4-wheeler magazine (if I remember correctly) and I actually saw it run in person at Highpoint raceway here in PA at a cross-country race.  It was really cool.  And that thing was FAST for a utility class quad.
