Met Mark on his new to him BMW GS650 at 8.30 to ride to meet the other riders in Dawsonville, GA.

The Marathon gas station in Dawsonville catered to the local java junkies

There werer nine of us and at 10 sharp, well 10 after 10, I led the group north to the forest roads around Suches, GA

2 KLR 650's, BMWGS650, KTM990, 2 Honda XR650's, brand new Yamaha Tenere - this is a HUGE bike, a couple of Triumphs.

Along the way. Daniel and KTM

Rest stop at the western end of FR 42

One of the XR's. This is a great off road bike but prone to overheating on long blacktop rides. He fell off once.

Curt and Triumph - another big bike. He fell off once

BILT gloves sold by Cyle Gear are CRAP

This is the waterproof liner. It's as a big as a fricking baseball glove. Liner  got separted from glove and had to be removed.

$30 worth of a stinking pile of poop.

What the hell is wrong with the forum. I have to keep "modifying" the thread to be able to type OR paste photos links. Very frustrating.

My electrical woes were threefold.

The LED strip under my headlight came loose.

The KLR battery at 15 months old died. Brand DEKA. EXT15L

My Gerbing temp controller sagged down and got destroyed by the rear wheel.

what did the rider and you think of the 990?

Rode one a few years ago and seemed like an awful lot of power for off road

Daniel ahs ridden his to S. America and Alaska. He rides like the wind BUT he's only ih his late 30's an still bounces.

It's a beast of a bike and a pain in the ass to work on.

Here's  a looooooong ride report for some rainy afternoon weekends.
