Does anyone know how to determine the original engine number for the VIN number?  I am just curious as to whether the engine in my lady has been replaced.  Probably not, but I would like to know for sure.

Thanks,

Compare the engine #(on right side) to the VIN on the left side of the neck, as I recall they should be the same. Don't quote me on that but it sticks in my addled mind that it should match. I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong, I don't mind.  crazy2

They won't be the same. The engine uses a different numbering system than the VIN.  If you post the VIN or send me a PM, I can post the probable range of the engine number if its original.
