Can someone answer this for me?? What were they thinking?!?!?!?! This beast of a bike, that commands attention, devours the road and makes Jesus Christ himself stare, comes equipped with the panziest of horns I have ever heard. I would rather have my five year old scream at the cars instead of pushing that dreaded horn button... so I have a solution: http://www.wolo-mfg.com/415-mcdtk-big.jpg

Go to the tech board and type horn in the search....we are aware, and have many options available. I prefer the car alarm siren

Should be alot of folks chiming in on the subject. I got a horn set from a Dodge Caravan and mounted it under the bike ahead of the swing arm. $8 for the horns and about $25 for the wires, clamps, relay and such. About an hour to get it done. (Would be faster now since I gots experience doing it) Have used them successfully in battle on many occasions. Spectacular results. Had my wife on the back once and hit the horn. About lost her as she nearly achieved lift off when I hit the horn. Really loud.

The horn; It was an after-thought at the factory. The designers forgot about the horn. They stuck one on after the fact to make it street legal.

I found out that horn made less noise than a Roadrunner....meep, meep. It doesn't get driver's attention, just pisses them off. So, I mounted a Stebel(sp) airhorn I picked up at Harbor Freight. At least I can be heard now.

Stebel, Rivco, Big BF's, many choices out there. I ran Rivo's ans also Stebels. The Valk is not the only bike with a pitiful stock horn. My Vstrom now has a Stebel.

I have a set of the chrome horns with a small compressor on mine. (Can't remember the make). These things will wake up the dead!

What I find amazing is that you managed to find a Valk that still had the stock horn!

When I had the rig, I was thinking a horn like that. Plenty of room for the big compressor that it takes to run it. That's probably about 200 clams for a setup like that.

Now, I have an I/S so I installed the FIAMM AM80S (dual horn) inside the lower fairing (one on each side). It fits perfectly and everyone is trying to find where this load sound is coming from. I've tried a number of horns (air, electromagnetic, electromagnetic etc...). I find this model to work the best. Simple, loud, reliable and will last for many years. My .02c.

Skin Head has the best horn in my humble opinion. But you too can have good one. For about 50 bucks. High Low tone set of horns ,2 40 bucks A relay 5 bucks Mount them anywhere you can get the wire to thread too. Use the stock horn button to operate the relay and the hot wire from the battery to power the horns. Once said circuit is closed by the horn button. Loudness can be yours. Otherwise they are even sadder than the original.

I am going to take the Stock horn and put it on my Ford Econoline VAN (The wife drives that)... should be funny....
Getting ready to install the Big'uns tonight...
I put a Wolo on my Shadow 750, but after about 400 rainy day rides, the thing just gargles.
I'm ready to the compressor / air tank / Titanic horns.
