My son is buying a 2002 Toyota Celica GT from a friend.  It is well taken care of and we know it needs a new catalytic converter - that was disclosed by our friend as well.

Where is a good, inexpensive place to get a new one in the DFW area?  I can buy a replacement online for under $100 but would just as soon take it to a local guy and pay into our local economy if under $150.

Any ideas?

Mark,

Several years ago, I had one replaced by an independent muffler shop in old Irving on Irving Blvd.
Don't remember the name of shop but it was just east of the old downtown Irving on North side of Irving Blvd.
I would think that you could check with a few shops closer to you and come up with some good prices..

Thanks for all the input.  I'll get to work on this now as the car arrives tomorrow.
