This just goes to prove that helmets don't prevent accidents as the insurance companies would have you believe.

It got to the mid fifties today, so I decided to play with my motorcycles.
However I had an accident today and was rushed to the hospital.

I hit my head as I fell and managed to just about tear off my ear (several stitches later), and I was not wearing my helmet.

I was working on two of my Valks today and I needed to take a break. I came in the back door and into the kitchen when I slipped on the tile floor. I fell forward and hit the kitchen table with my forehead. Luckily the tabletop was glass and broke or I could have been knocked unconcious. But how I tore my ear is a mystery to me!

The results

Did the table make a left turn in front of you?

Looks like we're going to have to expand the helmet law to include kitchens. Really sorry, Momz, the ear probably happened when the glass broke. Glad it wasn't worse, and that you'll be able to go to the kitchen tomorrow. You probably want me to pipe down now...

The table looked a little glassy eyed to me. Did an LEO get a breathalyzer?
More importantly, did the table have Insurance?  crazy2

Glad you came through with so little damage.

Ouch!

It appears this is a clear indication for a full faced helmet.  Such equipment would have protected your ear and forehead and prevented that expensive ride to the hospital.

Are you going to be able to rebuild the table?  It looks totaled to me.

Heal well, George, and be more careful in the future.  Kitchens are clearly very dangerous places.  We're just lucky there weren't food preparation implements involved as well.   Wink

I'd sue if I were you... were there any witnesses?  Table was clearly at fault.  Ask any ambulance chaser... They'll represent you for a mere 33%... Grin

Pain is temporary, wounds heal, and chicks dig scars...  That is the mantra at my house.  I tell my 4 year old that a lot.

Glad you're OK man.  Falling in the house sucks.

Were your feet wet?  That has about killed me a few times too.

Your choices of drugs seem to be OK, but you need to see that those CT shoes have a softer traction number and that the straps are tightened up.  Glad you are not hurt worse.  It could have been a lot worse...Jim  Smiley

George, I was just checking the owner's manual.

Were your feet under inflated or had you exceeded the maximum carrying capacity?  Either of those factors can result in an unexpected loss of control.
