Took a Ride to Try Out New Gloves . . .

  55 - 60* here today with lots of sunshine.  rode about 110 miles just to get the kinks out.  Up I-10 a ways and then down through Box Canyon that cuts over from 10 through some low mtns towards the Salton Sea. Rode was closed for several weeks a few months ago due to flash floods.  No traffic and nice twisting roads through the canyon.









 And then out of the canyon into agriculture. Table grapes, citrus and date palm groves.



  Nice day to get out.  Back to work tomorrow.  Oh . . . the gloves were fine.

  yep out there 2 weeks ago on a ride with my daughter.  wrote about it in recent post.  just outside Niland (pop 1000), and next to Salvation Mountain.   "slab city" is sort of remote desert and you might expect charlie manson to be living there.  we stopped for lunch in one of two diners in Niland for lunch and my daughter said it was like "Scary Movie".  I told her not to worry, nobody messes with bikers.   



  Then over to salvation mtn where one section is painted on the side of small mtn and adjacent to that is some odd sort of enclosed rooms.

  and . . . . here are the gloves.  a little warmer for this "cold" winter weather here in the desert.  want to ride up in the mtns, Big Bear and Idyllwild where it is way too cold for me.  really need some of those heated garmets for that.
