Couldn't decide between muzzleloader hunting or scooterizing Friday after work and finally decided on a little Valk time. Only got in about 90 minutes of riding but it was enough to give me the "Goober Grin" big time.

Temps were getting close to freezing and the roads were a little damp when I got home just after dark so I was glad to pull into the driveway. But not as glad as I was to pull out of it. Smiley

Here's a quick pic I took on one of my favorite local roads. And, yeah, I know I'm a puss, I pulled over to take the pic but I couldn't manipulate the phone/camera with my gloves on.

My son Andy and I took my Grandson Mason deer hunting today and will be doing it again in the morning. Mason is using my muzzleloader since his is still in Washington St. so I'm just tagging along, takin' up space in the woods and enjoying God's world with them. Things could be worse than that.  Smiley

Here's my muzzleloader, it's a TC Encore. It's also a .460 S&W magnum carbine, a 7mm/08 handgun and a .204 rifle. Man, I love swap barrel firearms.

This is my first (and only) deer of the year, a doe I got last Saturday morning while hunting with son Andy. 80 yard neck shot, she fell in her own tracks.

Never mind. I can't get the pic to load. Embarrassed

Trying it again. File couldn't be compressed enough for photostash I guess.

First and only deer this year.

My son Andy's muzzleloader is leaning against the tree to the left. He carved out the thumbhole stock when he was 14 and I helped him fit it to the gun. He did it mostly with a knife while sitting around the fire at our deer camp. It's cherry cut from a tree on my wife's family farm.

He's got several NEF rifles besides the muzzleloader in the pic. The stock fits them all and is fitted to his arm length, face and scope/ring dimensions.

Butchered it today. Cooked the inner loins for lunch with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, potatoes, onions and seasoning. It rocked. cooldude
