I agree with your assessment, though talking my dad out of it is not happening at the moment. I think it will be ok though, I got the windshield solidly mounted to the diamond plate and its mounted underneath the headlight, should pivot and break off as one piece if, hopefully not, he is in a wreck and flung forward toward the windshield, though, it would be more harmful in the event of a frontal collision

Regardless he seems happy, wish I could talk him into a lightweight cruiser, but he is determined now to make a sport tourer for a fraction of the cost, I guess my next project is building him diamond plate saddlebags...oh, I forgot, that's not the in word with sportbike riders, they prefer to carry their lattes and racer leathers in paniers, lol, hope I don't hit that phase when I reach his age
