I'm at a loss this year. Last year, we did not get each other anything, we just tried to take care of our kids and grand kids. I thought we were doing that again this year and I found out last night that my wife cheated and got me something. Now here I am with my face hanging wide open trying to figure out what to get her. How about giving a fellar some help here guys, I'm brain dead when it comes to shopping for her. ???

OK, Let's see if I understand the problem. Your wife cheated on you, so now you need to cheat on her? I'm not sure what to advise you to get her. Jewelry is usually fairly safe. Just keep the receipt so she can take it back. Remember, she's less concerned with WHAT you get her than simply the fact that you agonized over it for weeks and weeks. And for God sake, don't let her think you just randomly grabbed something off the shelf. Look for that personal tie in that lets her know how attentive you are. "It goes with your eyes; that lovely dress you wore to blah blah; the ring your sister gave you;" etc. Let this be a lesson to you. The next time she drags you to the store take a few minutes, before you head off to drool on the tools you can't afford, to see what she's looking at. Pay special attention to anything she mentions that she likes, but doesn't buy. (This is know as a hint and can have significant benefit to the clever male who recognizes and uses it.) Just DO NOT buy her a dual bag vacuum cleaner.

Join the club. I've yet to get out and shop for her and the morning of 24th is coming soon. (My shopping day). Totally bereft of ideas. One year I got her expensive perfume. She made me take it back and exchange it for a bread-maker. So yeah - some may actually prefer a vacuum cleaner.

Must... resist... urge... to... post... certain... Justin Timerlake & The Lonely Island... music... video...
Few tips - Some things do NOT generally work: Mops, vacuum cleaners, irons/ironing boards, cooking lessons, etc...
Some things that do work - jewelry, fluffy bath robes, fluffy slippers, fluffy blankets (Noticing a trend here?), new bedroom comforters. If you've got the $$$, a cruise would be generally go over well.
Gift certificates to local spas/manicure/pedicure/massage (If massage, check the place out and make sure it's not THAT kind of massage place first!) places.
Home printed coupon book that are redeemable to you, things like "Good for one free back rub, good for one free husband provided dinner, good for one free (Whatever, use your imagination)" have saved my butt too...

I'm in the same boat only I have an excuse, my son has her car (his is being repaired for the last few weeks) and she has my truck. So I can't shop. Just tell her "honey, go ahead and buy yourself something real nice and oh, BTW, it'll be on me." It's always best to let them know who's boss.

We had a mens shopping day with coworkers yesterday. Once a year we meet for lunch then go wife shopping. We met at the Tilted Kilt. After a hour the guys left except for me and another guy. Since I'm a sucker for belly rings on a tanned body we decided to tie one on before shopping. After 4 shots of Gentleman Jack, numerous free beer samples, 6 Bud lights, and 4 hours later, shopping was not getting done! We never buy for each other either till this year. Did go out and and get her a new tongue stud, a ring for another body part , a gun cleaning kit, and a choaker from Montana Silversmiths. So she got alot of jewlry for x-mas this year.

Make it personal and make sure to get an exchange slip. Do not fall into the hasty goofup. I pay attention to my wife and she has it all. I heard her one simple request and I got it for her. da prez

Well, my wife turned 70 this last tuesday so I am tapped out for Xmas gift ideas. But, more than one friend told me to buy for my wife something she would never buy for herself. So I bought her a new M1A rifle because I know she would never buy that for herself. Unfortunately the gift was not received in the spirit it was purchased.

USE CASH! If she sees the cancelled check or cc bill with a date this late, it means you weren't planning long enough to get her gift. Don't ask how I know.

My wife wears hoop pierced ear rings, and she wanted some for our wedding anniversary.
Went shopping with her, she looked at 3 different sets. Made a comment she sure liked to have all 3, but she figured that would be toooo much $$$$. As Joe May says, ya can't hide $$$$. Figure this way she gets what she wants and the kids get cut short on their inheritance.
We bought one pair, I caught the clerk off writing up the purchase and told her to put the other 2 back till tomorrow.
Went back and got them, she will get 1 pair Christmas and the other set on her Birthday. Jewelry store has always been very good with us, in cases she likes it at purchase time and then changes her mind. They have been very cooperative in exchanges.

I don't do well with gifts/surprises... so, I asked my wife saturday to go shopping for presents for each other. She bought a real expensive purse (?????? of all things), and I bought a................................piano....lmao Been wanting a decent electric keyboard for sometime. This way, she got what she wanted, and I got what I wanted!!!
Boring, maybe, but it worked, and we are both happy...well, except for those listening to me try to play!!! LOL

Well, for one thing, you've started WAY too early! Christmas isn't until the 25th.. that's this Sunday. No need to get in a rush. The stores are all open late Christmas Eve Besides that, you'll get a better deal on your purchase.

Theyres only two things you need to know about a woman. You dont need to know what to order her for dinner. She'll order off the menu. You dont need to know what sports she likes. She'll watch what she wants. Shoe size and ring size. The annonominity (?) of the internet and a trusted friends address, WIN! Some comfy, some thing you'd like to see, ;-), some thing warm. Dont sweat practical, its a gift. Rings at the pawn store. I got a real nice opal, heart shaped for $100 and sized as part of the deal. There is a reserve of pressies in the garage in a box marked "Greasy car parts". BTW, I OWN Valentine's day.

Get her a rubber mallet..... it's a little less painful than the ballpeen hammer, and your medical bills will be lower. Whatever you do, do not get her a nail gun.

It is all about the presentation! Get her a 10$ gift and make her think you got her nothing..." I figured I'd be in trouble for getting the wrong gift" or "If I had we would just spend the day in line to return it", "I'd be in the dog house for something so I figured I'd just EARN it! " And then, Just as she pulls back the slide and drops the safety off....Give her ANY gift BEFORE she pulls the trigger and you are golden....or mortally wounded
