This is the Motorcycle thread...I figure because that is what the majority wants to keep as THE topic it should work out GREAT! Every one will now be posting in this thread and that will keep it bumped to the top and all others can be disregarded. So...Who else uses distilled, rancid, bacon grease for final drive lube ? I filter it and put it back in every time I change my 31x10.5 truck tire (rear only)!

I seem to recall seeing a few threads about this and someone pointed out that distilled grease may prove unreliable in the long run. The undistilled, while it may contain more granular chunks, is less soluble in rain. So, what is the best rain gear one should get?
Lard is good too, but I find consumption much faster than BG. Heck, I saw a guy on a Ha**ey one time, he was carrying a spare 350-pound container of it on the back seat! Wicked...

Walmart shopping bags and electrical tape is the best rain gear, and that rider with the extra lard was headed to a different kind of party that I'm sure Steamer or O2S would be happy to explain.

I used about anything I could find with Moly by the tons in it.
Now I just have to check the drive belt every 100,000 or so.
Belt about 150$.
If it needs one.
So I should have to buy one in about 10 years, of course at that rate I'll be dead before I have to buy 2.
But what do you run in hte crank case.
That should be good for 10 bumps right there.

I use OIL...what do you use? Peanut butter.... non crunchy ..of course.. Speaking of which.... I was working in the MC shop.... running pvc conduit for elec plugs... and knocked over an open can of pvc glue.... it hit me on the head... ran down under my glasses.. into my hair, and beard.... Managed to get it out of my eyes for the most part... but by that time it dryed in my hair and beard... WHAT A MESS!!!! But peanut butter rubbed into it loosened it up enough to get MOST of it out.... until that point... I was a true blue beard.... BTW... this is the shop where I work on the bikes.... so it is MC related....

Never heard of a motorcycle leaking peanut butter! Maybe you are onto something there Mark Did you use ALL of the peanut butter ? Will Carl have to eat "Just Jelly" sandwiches now?

I tried greasing the splines with bacon fat but your father kept eating it. Try leaving a biscuit drenched in it close by...he usually eats that and stops sniffin' around the Valk! If he keeps lookin' I tell him Mom is on her way out.
