Very moving. The way that gorilla clung to his old master was a marvelous show of affection. So gentle, and from such a powerful creature.

Reminds me of an experience I had with a dog last summer...2010. A former daughter-in-law had remarried and lived in the Lansing, MI area, and had taken the two dogs with her they had in her former marriage. I hadn't seen the older dog in some years, but we spent a lot of time together when she was a newborn and grew into adulthood. We didn't know if she'd know me, plus was now about 13 yrs. old, nearly deaf, and going blind. I stopped there on the way to InZane last year, the pooch took one sniff of me then came real close so she could see me and also smell my breath. At that point she started to howl, crawled all over me and whined like a baby. She was underfoot all during my visit and since I stayed overnight, she slept next to my bed. I had the door shut and she scratched on it so I let her in. Every hour or so all night she would come over and lick my hand, wake me up and I would fuss with her, then she'd go lay down for another hour. Animals are amazing, and we make a mistake by calling them dumb animals. I know it means unable to speak, but I'm not so sure. Maybe we just don't speak their language and are the dumb ones in their eyes.

Clean up on the jungle aisle and fresh Y fronts for the guy in the glasses.

That's amazing. What an experience.

Yeah... they are great until they tear someones arm off and beat them with it... or chew a womans face off and tear her jaw from her skull.

I respect them, and appreciate their similarities to people, but I ain't snuggling with one.

Dogs... I like.  I could take a dog if it came down to that.  A gorilla or a Chimp... not so much.

thats right, respect the power. I think I read in the guiness world record that an adolescent male chimp pulled a dead weight of over 900 lbs. an adult female chimp in a rage pulled over 1200 lbs.

don't tick off the females no matter what the species angel
