My wife and I were trying to revive a few of her and my families Christmas traditions.
Giving LPs was a common gift in the seventies, and a lot of people got the "Darkside of the Moon" album. We were looking for the CD this week and found that it no longer avaiable.
However we met someone at the music store that said that there was a live two disc version called "Pulse".
I got it yesterday,.....and it is a complete mindblower!
This CD has the entire Darkside repitiore as well as several other choice cuts.
I guess I'm just sick of Burl Ives, Bing Crosby, Elvis and other seasonal songs.
This brings back my Christmas eves of yesterdays past. My Dad (not much for my taste in music) loved to hear that Pink Floyd album.
Peace and music to all

Pulse is a great album, but... Dark Side Of The Moon is still available on CD too... (It's the 3rd highest selling album of all time, I think it'll be available in any format you can think of for a long time to come ) http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Side-Moon-Pink-Floyd/dp/B000002U82/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324665442&sr=8-1

I saw Pink Floyd back in 79 or 80 in Munich. It was one of two shows they did with midgets tearing down the wall. It is something I will never forget.

Boxer rebellion, the Holy Child. They all pay their rent. But none together can testify to the rhythm of a road well bent. Saddles and zip codes, passports and gates, the Jones' keep. In August the water is trickling, in April it's furious deep.

I think a few hits off the bong might help this song But then again maybe not.

Saw them twice, back in the 70's, at the old Milwaukee County Stadium. First time was for the Dark Side Of The Moon tour (stage was in center field, and we were sitting on the pitchers mound ), the second was for the Animals tour... Both were amazing, but the DSOTM was the better of the two... Best part was when the huge jet flew down from behind home plate, and crashed behind the stage... Freaked us out, but then again, we were in slightly altered states Black Dog

I think a few hits off the bong might help this song But then again maybe not. It helps if you have head phones, and you're skipping 2nd period... -Mike

If you like Pink Floyd (and I do) you should check out Porcupine Tree. They were known as the Pink Floyd of the 90's. Their newer stuff is a little harder but the older stuff is very reminiscent of PF. http://youtu.be/cB61QMSwAsg

Ha! Thought I was the only one who remembered that one. I used to play it just to scare the kids when they were little. Seems like "Careful with that axe Eugene" was on that album too.
