This morning got up at 8 am and my wife and I watched our 17 month old little boy open his christmas presents. We had to be at my parents at 11 so I decided to get the old fat girl out and ride her out there. Its only about 25 miles from our house and usually only takes half an hour to get there. I pulled out of the drive way at 10:30 as did my wife and son in the car. Somehow I got lost on my way even though I have drove those roads thousands of times and finally found my way. Got there just in time to watch my son open his last present from my parents. Wife was not very happy, dad laughed his ass off. There are not very many christmas days you can ride and just had to take advantage of it.

I got a nice 75 miles around the neighborhood  in the beautiful 58 degree and sunny weather we enjoyed.  No bugs to clean off this time of year!   cooldude  Hoser

Ditto,
We did the same thing 82 degrees and sunny, no bugs, no humidity. Perfect day. We ran into a real nice couple who are Patriot Guard Riders and live only .5 miles away. They invited us to a ride-in/Bon-fire for New Years Eve. I'm thinking of going, they were talking big about the organization which I believe in and support. I'm just not a fan of group riding. We'll see. Undecided

Me and a Hog buddy (both solo for the holidays) hooked up and got in 4 hours of riding.  Nice, no traffic thou cold.  No lunch either........ every place was closed.

Wore my full face helmet for like the third time ever.  It was warmer, but I cannot ride with the visor completely closed because of fogging.  And it roars in there, I mean very noisy... drove me nuts.... if  I wore one all the time I would have to wear earplugs.  My DOT half helmets, with or without neck curtain, are much quieter.

Never thought of a full face being more noisy. I have always rode with a full face. Rode once without a helmet and made me feel naked. It does make sense that a full face is more noisy than a half. More closed space fore that big motor to echo. Ill never ride without a helmet. I was raised to put one on even if I was riding my dirt bike from the garage to the house. That was only about 50 feet. And plus my wife sais she would take the valk away if she caught me without one.

It's not engine noise or exhaust (bone stock), it's roaring wind noise .... even on an interstate with OE shield.  And it's a top quality Icon helmet with thick foam on the bottom (tries to rub my ears off putting it on, though a perfect fit once on).   It's Ok, I really do not like wearing it anyway except in the coldest of riding.  And I am a helmet guy too... not that I wouldn't like to take it off somewhere out West with no cars/traffic for a hundred miles.  But since I get sunburn and skin cancer on my bald head, that's out anyway.   I have not fallen off a bike on the road since 1971, but I won't ride without one anyway.
