I'm partial to single action pistols based on Sam Colt's Peacemaker.

Here's a pic of my three Rugers SA's.  The top is a Super Single Six.  I don't really like stainless and the Red Dot scope sorta spolis the looks.

The middle one is my present to myself a New Vaquero in .357 mag.  The New Vaquero's have a slightly smaller frame than the 'Old' Vaquero, which is the bottom one in .44 mag.  I understand that the 'new' Vaquero's are closer in size to the Colt. The fake case hardening was also dropped in favor of all blue. The .44 mag has the faux case hardening and it's in nice shape yet.

The looks of my Sa's  make up for the ugliness of the model 35 Glock that I have. Smiley

Very nice Wayne.   cooldude

I've always been partial to blue over stainless too, but I have several stainless which were the only option, or the best price.

How many clicks when the hammers are cocked?

My (only SA) three screw .44 Ruger Super Blackhawk clicks four times.

Well, I have an old Navy Arms .44 Dragoon SA, but it is all out of timing after fanning it (mistake).  Weighs like 7 pounds.  Couldn't hit anything with it anyway, but it does send five feet of flames with sixty grains of FFFG.

Beautiful pieces for sure.

I have two Rugers SA's. One in .357 and the other (which is my most prized pistol) is a three screw .41 mag. She is in pristine condition.  cooldude

Most fun to shoot gun I ever had was a Ruger Single Six .22/.22 mag  w/ a 6 1/2" barrel and a Pachmeyer grip.  Could drive nails with that thing from 40 yards.

All three Rugers are new model, open the gate to load. All are safe to carry with six.   I gave my Ruger Super Blackhawk three screw .44 mag to my son. It was not changed to a transfer bar.......no way!   All four have faux ivory grips which I am partial to if you didn't notice. Smiley

The Super Blackhawks as you know, had magnificent blueing but these are not bad.  I also at one time had a .41 mag but traded it in a moment of weakness.

The three screw Rugers sounded great when cocking.  Ist click, supposedly safety click, the hammer is backed off a small amount, the 2nd is loading click, lets the cylinder spin, while the third light click and the fourth click is full rooster.  Beautiful sound, those  clicks!.

The new models lost that great sound with only 2 clicks. However, the New Vaquero is improved over all the others in one big respect.  When the cylinder is rotated when unloading, when the click is heard, the cylinder chamber is lined up perfectly for loading or unloading through the port.

I do miss the Super but I can shoot it anytime that I want.  Mark and I are both left handers and the SA's are the only pistols made for left handers!  Shoot left, load right! without changing hands. cooldude:
