OK... So I like the whole "sit IN a seat instead of ON it" pitch, so I am going to get an Ultimate BigBoy. The question is... Can I just get the rider seat and replace that without getting the whole 4 piece set? I want to get the whole shebang eventually, but I can't spend that much money at once, it makes me vomit. My idea was to buy: - Rider Seat
- Rider Backrest
- Passenger Seat
- Passenger Backrest
I currently have stop seats and the sissy bar on my 2000 Tourer (That's what I have, right? the model number ends with a "C").

I've got an Ultimate Big Boy that I woould let go for $150.00. It's not perfect, but it will get you far enough down the road to realize that you want a Russel, (if you spend more that 300 miles a day in the saddle). I am sending a stock pan to Russell just as soon as I get it andf take the necessary photos....All made possible by a generous contribution of another member of this board. Thanks, Dave!! Shoot me a message if you are interested. I can take some photos and email them if you like. A good seat is the first step in this love affair. My Ultimate has served me well but life has allowed more time for wind in my face and my butt is too old to keep up. lol Ride safe, Randy

Go ahead and post some pics....
I ride to and from work every day. I don't do a whole lot of long rides (dad of 6 girls... not much "me" time), but when I do get out, I like to be comfortable.
Stock seat is making me slouch a little.

I ran an ultimate passenger seat and backrest with my OEM 97 seat for many years because the wife hated the OEM seat and I really liked the early model OEM seat. I did many 600-700 mile days on the early OEM. When I started planing my trip to the Northwest last year (a few 900 mile days) I bought the ultimate seat and backrest for myself too. I still throw my OEM on if I think I'm going to be doing a really dirty job at work but I prefer the ultimate. The backrest is great on smooth roads but does kind of jar my back when riding some of the rough local roads which seem to be covered with "open horse graves".

I bought the King big boy and cover...and that's all..my wife will never ride on a bike, so I had no need for the additional one. I also use one of those after market curved backrests off of ebay, that I paid 35 bucks for..it works great (cover is a pretty cheap quality) . I just saw your post and pics..since you have an 00, disregard the 2000 and up seat, sounds more like you need a lowboy seat..if you like to sit down low on your bike..the king big boy will raise you up and move you back.

This is the Stock seat on my 2000 Valk.... This is the Mustang seat on my 2008 Shadow ... I sit nice and deep on the shadow...a lot of back support. I've found that I have to fidget some on the Valk after a while for some relief.

You have a Standard, but it matters not as the saddles are the same for Tourers and Standards.

The Ultimate seats are the best purchase I have made for the Valkyrie. I do wish they weren't so darned expensive though. Try it, you'll like it.

I have to agree 100% with that statement! I had corbin seats on my Valk trike when I bought her. They seemed very stiff and not comfortable for long rides at all. The Ultimates are a vast improvement in my opinion. If I ever wind up getting another bike or trike, ordering a set of Ultimates will be the very first upgrade!

I also agree, went from stock seats on my 98 tourer to a full set of corbins. Much better then stock. Rode them for 5-6 years. Then a full set of the ultimates, much better then the corbins. What's that make them over the 98 stock seats?

I love my ultimate big boy, I've had corbins, mustangs and now the ultimate which hands down is the best. It's great to ride all day and not even think about your sore ass.

I had Ultimate Big Boy seats on my 98 Tourer when I bought it this last summer. I really like them. For some reason, the stitching is correct but I do not have the 'V' like in the pictures. Do not know when the PO bought them or how hold they are.
