I am better than I deserve to be

Ok, I am going to be installing 6.5" risers on my Black Beauty.  It is likely that I will have to be extending brake/clutch lines and throttle/clutch cables.  Of course none of this will happen without having Wizard as the project leader.

So, what I am looking for is the following:

If you have changed out your brake/clutch lines, where did you get them from??  If you got the braided lines, would you get them again??  If you got longer lines, is there anything I need to know about the ordering process??

If you changed from stock brake lines to 2 lines coming from the master cylinder straight to the calipers, have you had any issues??

Ok, as if that was not enough fuel to start the debate...   Grin

Throttle/Clutch/Choke cables -  If you have changed yours out and lengthened them who did you use and what do I need to know about the ordering process??

Oh and anything else you can think of that I may have not asked, would appreciate your input.

Let the debates begin.

Thanks,
Willie

Though I have not lengthened my clutch/brake hoses, I have switched to Galpher lines on clutch/fr brake/rear brake.  I like them, but I ordered the stock length for the Valk.  They had a kit with all 3 of them.  Depending on the extra length, you can order 1,2,3, or more inches over stock lines.  Someone will have to chime in that has done this.

As for the Galpher braided lines, I really like them.  They have the "T" in the line just like the stock ones and only one line comes off of the master cylinder.

No problems at all with that setup.

I just ordered the Spiegler brake and clutch lines through the Cycle gear on Gulf Freway. Not a problem to order the clutch and front brake 3 inches longer.  Have not yet installed them yet.  One minor disappointment, I was expecting new banjo bolts, (expecting aluminium or crome finish instead of using stock black banjo bolts). Spiegler factory says they do not come with new bolts, but picture on the web show them.  The rear brake line came with only one short braided line, (at the caliper) instead of one to cover the swing arm joint.   Not sure How I feel about that one.

I was able to reroute my stock throttle cable for 5.5 inch riser replacements wtihout changing them, so I cannot add any value to that conversation.
Hopefully your electrical cables will fit.  Mine "just " make it with the risers I installed, and I had to let the cables take  take a short cut instead of tieing them down at each tie point on the handlebar.

Hope it helps.   If you find better response from the galfer folks, I would go that way.
