the fed gov is looking at passing a bill to ensure that federal gas taxes aren't cut in the future. So the fed gas tax won't get any lower. Seems to ensure that gas prices stay up in the future.

Two weeks ago, here in SE Wisconsin, the price for a gallon of regular was $2.08.9...  Had been like that for about two months.

Today, on the way to work, the same station was $2.39.9  tickedoff

Memorial Day is just around the corner... uglystupid2

Same here.  I was reading something that said prices would go up but should not reach close to the $3/gal we are familiar with.
It is hard to understand why oil prices can go down and level off but most things made from crude oil stay the same high price or fluctuate higher than we think is reasonable.

There is a perfectly good explaination for all these increases. Go and explain Mr's Hotglue, Strider, Warlock, (resident oil field trash guys).

20 cent jump in less than 12 hours here in north Atlanta.  Angry

Now we will get told the same old fairy tales as to why and America will once again bend over and take it in the rear.

I have no problem with massive profits just don't lie to me about the reason why it is happening.

F... it I'm off to a Yamaha demo day. Hope to ride a new V-Max.

Update.

Yamaha Warrior - enjoyable. More so than any Buell or HD I've ridden.

Stratoliner - piece of pooh - keep buying up Valkyries.

FJR - any throttle hesitation / lumpiness from earlier models has gone. Smooth powerful ride.

V Max - hell YEAH!!!! Will make your ears touch. What a BLAST! I'm still grinning. Less wind buffeting than from the Stratoliner with windshiled. - Strange.

Our gas is hovering at $1.999 right now.  It has gone up about $.30 a gal in the last 2 weeks.  Loved it when it was lower.  Could be over $2.00 a gal now as I haven't been out since noon yesterday...   Been a favorin my new bionic eye ball......  Today I'll be out about noon giving it a test run.   So far really satisfied with it....

Every time I read in the rags that the gas price analyst's predict a slight increase, the firkin price goes up a dime or more per gallon..

Maybe if we could keep them b*stards trap's shut it might level off somewhat..  Yeah, they yacked about Memorial day a couple of days ago and zing, up she went, $.10 one day and $.08 the next, then it will go down a couple of pennies and zing, we start it all over again.    We seem to be losing ground by $.16 a week or 10 days..

Went up $0.15 between 8:00am & 5:00pm on Monday. It was about $1.85 at Christmas time and now $2.30 so that's $0.50 in 5 months. Guess they are getting us ready for the summer gas prices.

Around here every time the firkin Natural Resources state dept says something to the effect that gas is going up.

Bingo, time for an increase the gas companies say, and presto it is done.....

We went up $.15 cents last night between the 6:00 PM announcement that gas could go higher in price, and 9:00 AM this morning......

Bastards.    Oil is still down from what it was last year, and the gas price keeps climbing.   Now make me believe their is no break it off in me price gouging.  For some reason or another my butt is sore.

What do you mean oilfield trash Angry. Unlike some people they have no ideal what it takes to put gas at the pumps. I don't like paying the high prices either, but it the bottom falls out I'll be looking for a job. I spend more time on the water than land. I satifice(sp) leaving my love ones home and hoping nothing happens while I'm gone. You just can't tell them well I want to go home tomorrow. You are stuck out there. I miss alot while being out there and yes I choose to be there and it does pay well. Of course you miss alot also. I really don't like being called trash and I take that as a insult. But just to let people know all us that work out here has no way of telling the big oil company how to sell it. It's like alot of stuff that's high price. If you don't like the price don't buy it.

David I apologize if you took offence to the oil field remark. It's commonly used around here and as far as I know most say it without meaning anything derogatory. My grandfather and great grandfather both retired from the Kansas oil fields and they imprinted that term into my regular language. I guess it's not so common down your way.

Nothing meant by it David.

Price of crude, guys....price of crude.  Up today 1.92.....Lowest around $35 weeks ago...today close to 60.  Stock market up (over 8500)...30 year T-bond up from 2.68 to 4.27 today.  It's a movin....gonna pay more.....gotta pay off the debt for the "bail out"....inflation will go higher (remember the 70's).  Crude supplies have been full for weeks, ships sitting in the gulf full...no place to put the crude.....driving habits down...now, summer, more driving.  We have all gotten used to 1.85...started driving more...crude going up as our driving habits go up.  We haven't heard a word about excess profits...but gov't says they won't decrease their taxes....gotta pay more for the debt run-up.

Price in the bayou country....2.08....and they make the damn stuff all around us....many refineries around here....but, they gotta ship it somewhere.  550 thousand barrel a day unit down yesterday...get ready...less supply in the system....price going up.  Some refineries just coming off major unit turnarounds.....less supply, price going up....not gouging....its economics...supply vs demand with price we are willing to pay. Here's something that hasn't been shouted from the roof tops in the American media.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/energy/5274121/Rising-reserves-of-unused-oil-put-strain-on-storage.html

Now tell me why oil is rising in price.

If you really believe that US demand overshadows the decline in global demand I'm sorry to say that you are sorely blinkered.
