Great day for a ride today!  We had a nice little assembly including the folks from the South Austin Riders Group (SARG) make it out to the Blessing of the Bikes.  As planned we all met up in Bergheim, regrouped, then headed over to Javalina Harley in Boerne where there were already hundreds of bikes and riders...

They had some hot chili, coffee and tacos at the sign up area and folks milled about while visiting...

There where a few other Valkyries present including this nice custom...

Eventually, it came time for a little spirituality...

We then parted ways with the SARG folks and headed out for a nice Hill Country ride to the Chess Club Cafe in Blanco...

Inside it was warm, the coffee was hot and the conversation was lively.  My coffee came in a special biker mug...

The chicken fried chicken special looked mighty inviting...

It didn't stay on the plate long...

What a wonderful way to spend the first day of the New Year!

Wish it wasn't 4 hours away to have joined up with you guys.  I did check google maps just to see, but didn't want to leave here at 5:30am.

CMA did a wonderful job, as always.  I wish Janice could have been there, but methinks y'all are glad she wasn't: H1N1 is a nasty thing to behold Sad, and we ultimately spent Tues @ 1800 through Wed @ 0600 at Chez Christus Santa Rosa (local ER) where Janice got her second and third liters of IV fluids of the day.  She was severely dehydrated due to not being able to keep *anything* down, including the usual litany of liquids-for-sick-people (7-up, Gatorade, etc.).

She's doing *much* better as I type this.  Might even be able/willing to ride this weekend, but we'll consider burning that bridge when we come to it.

True confessions time: I left the Rune at home and rode the VTX, although Charlie was gracious enough to leave me in one of the pics he took anyway.  Y'all are the best.

Wabbit, you should know by now that we don't care what you ride, just that you ride and participate.  Prayers up for Janice from Pearland.  Glad you could make it and get your bike blessed.
