I want to know how many WATTS this 90Amp welder uses?......I'm not sure how to convert it and I didn't see it on the website..... Sad

What I'm wondering is if this little generator would run the above welder if a man couldn't get to an A/C outlet?.....at least on the minimum setting of 45amps......

I believe you divide watts into volts to get amps.   But that welder works off a step down transformer, so i don't think that formula will work.

Manual downloaded from that page says 24A Peak @120V

That's 2880 watts...

I would expect it draws less for most welding at lower settings, but startup may spike that high even on lower settings...

Half power (45amp setting) *should* draw somewhere close to half the watts, but there are fans/etc that don't figure into that.

So, I don't think you could run it effectively on 900 watts.

The advertised power input to that welder is 120 volts and up to 20 amps.  The conversion for watts is amps times volts so that makes this welder 2400 watts.  The generator is only 800 watts with a momentary surge rateing of up to 900 watts.  No, this generator will not safely run that welder.

I got that little generator for Christmas....MAINLY for running a drill at remote locations when I'm doing crosstie work..... cooldude
