I just got it in and it looks great.  The zert goes into the cap with the screw, correct?

Also, what is the part number of the u-joint in the yoke?  I think you said it was available at Napa for around $20.

For $85, having this repairable u-joint makes me feel a lot better about long distance riding.

Thanks!

Rainmaker.

Hey RainMaker,

Glad your u-joints got there.  Answering your questions:  the u-joint is a Precision Universal #392.  Available at any Napa, Kreagan's or O'Reileys Auto Parts for Approx. $20.  Run the aluminum cap all year long, then once a year replace it with a zerk and grease the u-joint, replace the aluminum cap and you are good to go for another year.
The cost is $85/u-joint plus $10 shipping.
Mark, I told Ron that you were one of the good guys from Texas, and that you would be sending him a check directly to him.  Please mail to:

Drive Line Express

Hay and I sent our used u-joints to Dick (FreePass) and he had the guys at Drive Line Express retool them to use a standard u-joint.  The u-joint you send cannot be a bad one - just a used one.  Once the caps lock up and start wallowing out the holes, the u-joint is unusable.

So, mine had 60K on it and was still working, but took it out and sent it to Dick.  It came back ready to go with a removable zert.  One squirt of grease every once in a while and it will probably never wear out.

Contact FreePass via IM for the current details.
