Strange Day

I'm in NW Iowa. It is JANUARY 5th. It is nearly 70 degrees. I'm looking forward to a wonderful day of motorcycle riding. But first...

I must take the dog to the vet for xrays. She got sick over Xmas and a tumor was discovered. So this was the follow up. Dropped dog off at vet. On the way there and back the truck (Dodge Dakota) makes terrible sounds at every bump. Sounds like something wrong up front.
Get home and wife tells me that the water heater is leaking. I call plumber and then proceed to drain the water heater and take it out.

Wait for call from vet and visit from plumber to install new water heater.

Pull Valk out of garage and wash it. Get the leaf blower to dry it off and it won't start so have to dry it out the old fashioned way with towels.

Take a quick look at the truck. Tie rod is busted and no longer attached to stabilizer bar.
Gingerly take truck across town to mechanic at dealer. Call daughter for ride home.

Still waiting on call from Vet and plumber arrives and I install the highway bars on my wife's Shadow.

Vet calls and says the tumor is large and, while he can do an exploratory and maybe get the tumor out, suggests taking the dog to Ames to Iowa State University Vet Clinic as an option to him doing it locally. (We've decided on having the dog treated by the local vet)

Plumber works on installing water heater. I assist.

Turn water on. As normal, the lack of pressure in the lines loosens stuff in the pipes and promptly plugs bathroom tub faucet. I take that apart and back flush the crud out and reinstall that.

It's dark now.

I finally get a short 10 min. ride in.

Ride up to tell my wife who is at work that we're going out to eat tonight.

And we do.

So it all mostly worked out in the end, but I was hoping a bit of better news on the dog and for a longer ride.
