What don't you like about it?  Specifically.

I'm no Obama fan, but we've been crying for budget cuts, and here is one.  Are we really supposed to believe that there is no fat that could be trimmed from the defense budget?  Do we really still need 50,000 troops in far away countries?

they (the gov) can pick you up and make you disappear with no charge or proof.
they just half to claim you are a threat to national security. this also paves the way the Internet censorship as a threat to national security, this much power in the govs hands can only get worse.

there's a lot more to it look it up. you just need some one to say you are a witch and they come get you. not at the moment .they will start slow to make you think this new power is for all our own good but it will turn it to something this bad

Not sure what "quietly," means. It's been well covered in the press and he's discussed it on TV. It even came out as a flash on AP.

Do we need to be able to sustain two major regional conflicts, as Proposed by President Clinton's Secretary of Defense, Les Aspin for the 1994 FY budget? Or will a Bush Administration style "4-2-1 strategy," which advocates "more with less," be a better way to go?
I kinda lean toward the more guys with guns philosophy, rather than hoping to finish the first war quickly so we can redeploy. We'll just have to pay for it in any way we can.
Despite the ridiculous distractions of citizenship and muslim questions, this President has been remarkably Republican in actual practice. He's certainly disappointed the far left. This sounds remarkably similar to Rumsfeld's justification of 4-2-1. This is one of the times I disagree with him.

(quietly) means that when everybody was concentrating on the new year celebration and after he said he would veto this very bill he signed it  no fan fair kinda in the dark . you know .like when someone comes in to your home in the dark and steal something from you . in this case our civil rights.  don't EVER give your rights  now they are taking them from us a little at a time .only this is kind of a big step .  whats next  if you own to many guns to much ammunition, if you live to much better than someone in power.  it will get out of hand

I'm beyond disappointment that he reneged on his promise to veto it. There is no defense for doing so.

I'll admit, I was ready to grant Obama a little bit of respect when he promised to veto this, but..... well...  tickedoff

They are ALL politicians! Therefore lies the problem! We need some one that doesn't want the job to begin with!

If it all gets too hairy, we have a war winner in a thing called a Nuke.

Greatest Peace Maker since well anything.

If you got a Nuke, they think twice before charging in, but I guess that is just stating the obvious.

World Wars are a thing of the past now.

Nukes keep wars small, too terrible to fight that kind of war.

So should it not be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

To have and enjoy peace, prepare for war.

Disappointed isn't the word.   tickedoff

I'm not even surprised.  The way he has handled himself in the white house.....I EXPECTED him to sign it.  I mean really, he has made it clear for years and years his "opinion" of the military. Why is anyone surprised that he would do this???? Shocked

Give me someone passionate about making Government smaller, less intrusive, and more towards the Founding Father's original intent of what a government SHOULD be...I will follow THAT politician anywhere! cooldude
