Worth the price of a cinema ticket.
Make sure you pay attention.
Try and work it out before the movie tells you the answer.
As I was leaving the theater a slightly younger couple was walking ahead of me. The male was explaining the basice plot to the female accompanying him.

We went to see it not knowing anything about it before hand...except that it was highly recommended.
Was NOT disappointed. Excellent movie. Can't wait for the next two.

I have read all three books and saw the movie over the holidays. Good stuff all around!
BTW, the rape scene is pivotal to the three books and it was toned down for the movie.

Dad is half way through reading the book and he's enjoying it. He thought the book's pacing was odd but it is holding his attention. Perhaps I'll go with him after he finishes the book. Perhaps I'll give the book a read too first.
I have the European movie but haven't watched it yet. I prefer to read the books first.
I'm hearing good things about this movie so far.
