My fat girl's starting to show her age, so this winter
I'm gonna try to get her back it to shape. After checking out the  Valkyrie Genealogy page I realized our Valks are soon to be a rare collector's item. There were only a total of 52,360 built during the production run from 1996 to 2003. Just think how many have gone by the wayside since the last one came off the assembly line.
At the risk of sounding a bit mellow-dramatic soon it will become our responsibility to preserve our beautiful dragons for the purpose of posterity so a next generation of riders can experience the thrill that we (the lucky ones) have had; To ride the most dependable, durable, and thrilling bikes ever to rampage down the road.
So take care of your Valk, ride, and enjoy them, and some day they will be as rare as a 69 Mustang or a Hemi Chager.

the demand for this line of bikes is too rarefied for it to become an “instant” classic. The Mustang of motorcycles will be something with a V-twin in it’s heart. Still, I look for the Valkyrie to become a true classic in the next couple of decades. There is no other production bike like it. The fact that it was produced by a major manufacturer will set it apart from other machines like the V8 powered Boss Hoss.
I hope to be still riding mine when that day comes.
From the blog, "Instant Classic."

I followed this address and found the TV add that MADE me buy my first Valk.  It was the winter of 1998 and I was in the market for a new ROAD bike, only owning dirt bikes since the late 70's, my last street bike was a CB550F.  This add came on and I was HOOKED!  Out went the BMW and the Moto Guzzi I was looking at, as I had already ruled out any HD (the last HD I rode died on I-4 outside Orlando during Biketoberfest 98).

I didn't even look at a Honda cause I didn't know they made any large street bike, outside of the Goldwing, and I wasn't ready for a Wing just yet.

I had not seen or heard about the Valkyrie.

That TV add changed my life, in such a positive way, I giggle every time I see it again.

I told my buddy, Andy Popoli, owner of Popoli's Honda in Westfield, MA. when I bought my first Valk in 1999, that i thought the Valkryie was going to be a classic. I still believe that, just hope I'm still around to see it.

I'm hoping I can retire on what I sell mine for when I get too old to ride.

I recently stopped in the showroom after I’d picked up a couple of parts at the local Honda/Kawasaki dealership and was admiring all the shiny things. The young sales girl (I know that ain’t PC) asked me what I ride and I pointed proudly outside where my Fat Lady sat gleaming in the afternoon sun. The young lady shook her head, chuckled and said, “There’s no way I’ll sell you anything in here, you’ll never outgrow that motorcycle.” She’s right.  cooldude
