Any day that you ride is a good day!

and by a BMW......

I had just turned onto a road that has a really long straight stretch that is really good for opening the fat lady up and letting her feel her "oats".

I saw the Beamer coming towards me with it's turn signal on as I turned the corner but I didn't give it much thought.

I opened the girl up like I usually do after turning the corner, not asking her to give me everything that she has to give but still letting her stretch her legs pretty good.

Running about 85 mph in 3rd gear, I glanced in the rear view mirror and noticed that the Beamer was closing pretty quickly.

I lazily shifted through 4th gear into 5th, I stayed in the throttle but not real hard.

Another look in the rear view proved that the Beamer was still closing.

I rolled the throttle all the way back and watched the speedometer continue to climb, 100, 110, 115.

At 120 the Beamer had caught me and took to the passing lane............

seconds later one of these blew past me:

By this time I was showing 125 on the speedo, and the Beamer was walking away from me.

Being older and at least a little wiser, I conceded defeat and closed the throttle.

Those  M3 coupes are fast !

At least it was FAST BLACK.  Evil

 Wink

I was told the police bike would top at 140 but the speedometer doesnt go that high  I think my 1150rtp would be at red line by 120 never had it over 90 never felt the need

at least I know the speedometer reads true unlike the VALK where 125 is
really 118 or less     http://www.brownmotorworks.net/brochure/R1150RTP_Brochure.pdf

Yeah man, I've played tag with a few supercars, specifically on the *PA turnpike from VA to MI, and for 50 or more miles at a time (slowing for light traffic and then hauling when the road opens up; carefully, not fully racing, but fast).  There are a couple of giant sweepers on the *Lincoln Hwy, built before modern rules about how sharp a turn can be on a freeway, that are like a race track (not banked as well) and if there's no traffic, you can really smoke thru some corners leaned way over.  Shocked

Of course, you wrote it to make us think it was a Beemer bike, and it surprised me when I scrolled to the pic.  I expect their new six cylinder 180 HP bike can do the same thing.

The truth is, there are plenty of cars (and bikes) around that can best the Valk, but a pretty high percentage of the drivers/owners of those cars are not willing to actually drive at high speed (for more than 10 seconds).  And then it's nice if they are actually good drivers.  LOL

But you must have a safe road to do it and that's really only open stretches of freeway out East (with no deer).  Well, relatively safely.  But man the ticket (perhaps arrest and tow in VA) from such behavior would be a great big bummer.  Cry

I won't flat out race anyone (I'd have let him go too), but a little fast rolling is fun when the road allows it, and you're feeling lucky.   cooldude

Stanley, it is too damn bad she doesn't have a Sorority paddle with little holes in it...........

She could put some nice looking welts on that bare butt and I'll guarantee you, you would not bare it again.

You're right Jess, some people just can't handle these super cars. Here's a prime example. He crashed it going around a curve at 40 mph.
