Victory American Made Harley WannaBe.

You won't impress anyone here with a bike designed after Bozo the Clown.

But the newer ones are looking better for 2012.

Those Bikes according to Britman, have a ton of space and do ride fairly well on the big roads.

It's actually smart marketing. Makes you want to know what it is, whether you're interested or not. It gets people talking about it (it work on this forum), and it creates hype. It's an old ploy. Remeber when dealerships kept their new cars under sheets on the showroom floors for the grand unveiling. It always got people excited about the new products. It's money well spent.

Yup 2 might never be as good as 6 but alot of folks in this "Valkyrie" club has made the choice already. Lot of Victory owners here and other twins. I like the brand and would replace one of my Valks with one. No problem with Victory in my eyes. What would I go with in Honda's lineup? A 1300 Interstate, not a chance. Good thing I have 2 extra Valks in the garage just in case.

I did see a new Victory Vision a few days ago and had to do a double take at first to see what it was.  DID NOT like the way it looked.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

That video looks like it was made on Dillon Road right near me where I ride a lot. I DO LIKE the way that road looks and it's fun to ride.  cooldude

After owning a Triumph Rocket 3 for a couple years I doubt I'll be impressed with any V-Twin "hot rod" big cruiser bike.  Roll Eyes Even as fun & intoxicating as the awesome power of the inline 3 Rocket is I still wouldn't trade it for the smoothness of a 6 cylinder bike.
I put my money where my mouth is by selling the R3 & getting 2 more Valks.  Grin Shocked Grin
Too much vibration from the R3 for it to be a keeper. I would imagine any twink from Polaris would vibe too much for me as well.
On a related thought.... Why doesn't any company come out with a big inline 4 powered cruiser? Is there some engineering flaw in a big inch I4 that precludes using that design? Is a 1500-1800cc inline 4 not possible or something?? Just thinking outloud.  Wink

And X 10 for me. Was going to get one of their bikes when they came out in 98. Put my $ down and was going to get one of the first 200. The owner got his in first and let us test drive it... Coming off of a 82 CB900C it was a train wreck. I have since test rode most of his new models and none are close to the valk in smoothness and a turbine like sound and speed that speaks to my meager sensibilities. I got my $ back and continued the hunt for the perfect bike for Jim. Got a Valk and am on my 2nd one now. I am into smooth refined power without the vibes in a great handling and looking bike. Have yet to find what I want in whats currently out there in my price range. So me and the red and white will just have to make a go for it. At my currently low yearly milage of about 5-6k a year I figure I'll wear out before she does

Please do not mis-construe my statement, I have no interest in anything that is a V Twin, don't care who is it made by.  I have no issues with Victory.  If they make what makes your motor hum, then more power to you.  It's just not my thing.  I sincerely wish an American Motorcycle Company would build something similar to our fat ladies, I'd go borrow the money in a heartbeat to have it.  But, unfortunately for me, the majority of Americans seem to think V Twins are what's right for them so, I'm apparently in the minority.  I can accept that, I love my old girl, nothing else like her and unless I fall and hit my head knocking out what little sense I have left, I'll never ride another vibrator on two wheels, I can see why the ladies like it, it's just not for me.

Eventually, somebody will build another flat 6 or even a short stroke flat 4 with high revs and high torque, fuel injection, 6 speed box and modern electronics, and I.......... WILL FALL HOPELESSLY IN LOVE, with another bike.

Don't bother me 'till that day, and until that hallowed day comes, my Valkyrie will do just fine.

Definitely not too racey for me, and I'm most assuredly an "old fart."  Love the engine, hate the bike!  Doesn't anybody that's developing a new bike know how to design something other than a cussed crotch rocket? There are numerous engines out there that would do and look fine in a long, low slung cruiser type application. Why are they all built to look the same, sitting with weight on your arms/wrists, knees bent with your feet tucked up and back. A few years back as a favor to a friend I rode his crotch rocket back to Orlando from up near Lake City, well over 100 miles. Most uncomfortable ride of my life, why anyone would want to use that position for cross-country trips is beyond me.  tickedoff

Well, I was not aware of Motus and I can see some potential in their engine but, there's no way I'm gonna ride a crotch rocket on a nice cruise.  Been on a few, couldn't wait to get off.  When that or a similar engine is put on a cruiser, then we'll see.

I guess the cruiser buyer market is too small of a group for the motorcycle companies to pander to.  Let's face it, if the money was there, the producers of these bikes would be building and selling them.  If the Valkyrie had sold in sufficient numbers, they'd still be in production and on the show room floor for us to take home.  I realize we're a small group within the motorcycle world.   We as a whole aren't statistically a large enough buying group to entice companies like H-D to produce the bike we want.   What I don't understand is why a company like H-D totally ignores us.   Most of us would love to have the opportunity to ride a bike totally produced in the US by Americans (at least, I think we would).   If Motus builds a cruiser, I'll take a look.

it's another V-twinkie, you can tell by the sound of the engine in the comercial.

sorry, not for me......  i test road a Victory Vision, i liked the radio, and the cruise control, didn't like the engine.  it reminded me of a carnival go-cart engine.  not a lot of "get-up-n-go".

The KMV4 powered MST from Motus takes to the road.

Motus revealed the MST at Daytona Bike week.........

Time will tell whether this machine lives up to it’s potential. I’m hoping for success on Motus’ part. I’d like the next great V-4 to be an American product. I’d like an Ameriucan company to succeed. And I’d like that motor to go into high production so that Motus will start looking for other things to stick it in.
Unlike Motus, I’m more excited about the KMV-4 engine than the bike as a whole. I can’t get myself to believe that somebody isn’t going to chrome that thing out, with cherry red valve covers, then stick it in a retro-style heavy cruiser with four into four pipes. Lose the chain and give it a drive shaft. Call it a new class of motorcycle, a muscle bike or muscle cruiser. Give it a name reminiscent of the muscle cars of the ’70s, like the Daytona SS.
Just picture yourself cruising America on your cherry red Daytona SS. And when you need to put a little more asphalt in your rearview mirror, you’ll do it with a distinctly American sound. Those pipes will be singing, “Born in the USA” while you enjoy “America the Beautiful.”
 I can’t wait.

Let me say a few words based upon experience with both Valks and a Victory. I owned two Valks for a total of eleven and half years and 93,000 miles. Loved both of them. Since November of 2008 I've owned a '08 Victory Vision and love it as well.  It is by far the most comfortable bike I've owned in my 65 years of life. Is it as smooth as Valk?  No, but much smoother than a Harley. I also ride with both Harley and 1800 Gold Wing guys. My Vision will toast either with no problem.
