Hi,,
I have a black 99 Interstate and am looking to create a super valk out of it ,but also would like to convert back to full interstate for the two up rides. I would like as much info on how to do this as possible. I thank-you for your responces.

You can follow Big BF's pictorial on how to make the trunk 'Quick Disconnect'.  Bill has lots of good tips at his site, and he's a big supporter of the VRCC...

Instructions here -

http://bigbf.com/bigbf_shop/mod_i-s_trunk/

Also, you will need to obtain a tail/brake light from a std/tour (or other Honda bike) for running without the trunk.

Try a search of 'Super Valk' and sit and read for a while  cooldude

Here is my Super Valk

Looks Awesome!!!! Could you post or PM me a picture or explain how to mount antenna under Saddlebag. I would have to mount both radio and Cb antennas if i were to do a Supervalk.

The antenna is bolted to a flat piece of metal and then mounted to the bag mount with 2 hose clamps.

Don't know if you saw this or not, but there is a Tail light for sale in the classifides...

Tail light in great shape. I bought it new but never installed it. Comes with the rubber mounting gasket. I paid $125. Will let it go for $75 plus shipping.  Shipping is about $10. PM me with your phone number and I can text you pics.
Thanks
Chuck

Rather than slot the trunk brackets ala Big BF, I cut the studs off the fender struts and had them tapped to accept 8mm chrome cap screws.

Hummm cut off the stud? then you will need 2nd person to hold the trunk and you put bolts in without scratching the fender... What if there's nobody help to hold trunk for ya???

Heres mine.....

I slotted my trunk brackets a lil different than recommended, but once the nut is in place you cant see the cut...... because of the angle it will stay on with the nuts loose........ and you don't have to trim down the front of the brackets to tip and slide as in the standard mod, so it looks mostly stock with the nuts on.... drops right down on the bolts.  I also use nylon spacers to shim the gap and leave them on when the trunk is off.. covers the threads of the bolts once the nuts are tightened.

I also installed quick disconnect plugs for the lights and speakers..... just 2 plugs and the antenna connections under the seat and ready to go..no removing side cover at all.. used the wiring harness that came with the standard taillight and spliced in the plug.

I also used a powered "hidden" antenna from online that hides under the seat.. works but might move it to the inside of the saddle bag for better reception.... but no mount for a standard antenna that way... I use the trunk mounted antenna when the trunk is in place.

Thats how I did it , but the other ways work too...
