Gun lovers. Herewith are thirteen things to remember when carrying your weapon. BTW- this list is not original. I’ve Google up the bullet points but alas …I got nada in regards to who penned it. If and when someone schools me on who the author is you can rest assure that I’ll give him or her proper praise. Enjoy.
1. Guns have only two enemies rust and politicians.
2. It’s always better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
3. Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not you.
4. Never let someone or something that threatens you get inside arms length.
5. Never say, “I’ve got a gun.” If you need to use deadly force, the first sound they hear should be the safety clicking off.
6. The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes; the response time of a .357 is 1400 feet per second.
7. The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win – cheat if necessary.
8. Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets . . . You may get killed with your own gun, but he’ll have to beat you to death with it, because it’ll be empty.
9. If you’re in a gunfight:
- If you’re not shooting, you should be loading.
- If you’re not loading, you should be moving.
- If you’re not moving, you’re dead.
10. In a life and death situation, do something . . . It may be wrong, but do something!
11. If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?
12. You can say ‘stop’ or ‘alto’ or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone’s head is pretty much a universal language.
13. You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself and your family.

If the cop askes why you shot him 6 times......theres two good answeres:
1. I didnt have time to reload
or
2. The seventh time I pulled the trigger it just went "click"
If you ask me why I own a .50 cal....The answer is "because they dont sell a .60cal!"

If you’re not moving, you’re dead.
This is more of a military and sniper rule, and for advancing against the enemy.
If you are out in the world, and have a good safe spot behind solid cover, it's a good idea to stay put (unless they are trying to flank you, then by all means move if you can)

And there's always this. . .
Story from a Kansas State Highway Patrol officer:
I made a traffic stop on an elderly lady the other day for speeding
on U.S. 166 Eastbound at Mile Marker 73 just East of Sedan, KS.
I asked for her driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance.
The lady took out the required information and handed it to me.
In with the cards I was somewhat surprised (due to her advanced age)
to see she had a conceal carry permit. I looked at her and ask if
she had a weapon in her possession at this time.
She responded that she indeed had a .45 automatic in her glove box.
Something---body language, or the way she said it---made me want
to ask if she had any other firearms. She did admit to also having
a 9mm Glock in her center console. Now I had to ask one more
time if that was all. She responded once again that she did have just one more, a .38 special in her purse. I then asked her what
was she so afraid of.
She looked me right in the eye and said, "Not a damn thing!"

"1. Guns have only two enemies rust and politicians." There is a third. Owners who fail to keep them out of the hands of 9 year old's,who shoot there brothers. Undisciplined, sloppy gun owners, are our own worst enemy First thing my father said the first time he took me shooting: Boy, this is not a toy!

One very important rule that everyone should remember. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. Another is if you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Jess no offense intended. it's just i've always been trained to be the aggressor and it's worked well every time i employed it. None taken Tank. On this forum, we're not talking infantry tactics. I'm talking about if you (and maybe a wife and/or child) are in a parking structure and hear a gunshot. Here, I would not advance to gunfire, I would take cover behind concrete and wait quietly with my gun drawn carefully scanning the area, locating safe exits, weighing my options. If they advance on me in the open I will hit them center mass, from cover. Now if I'm alone, and have my AR and tac vest with 260 rounds in loaded mags, I might do it differently.
