Hi,
I purchased a pair of Cobra Exhaust shields from Flea-Bay.  I looked on the website and could not find any pictures anywhere. They came with no instructions. They are obviously for cosmetic only as I think they are supposed to cover up the upper exhaust becuase of blueing. They came with 2 hose clamps and I don't know if I have to drop the exhaust to install them. Does anyone have a set of shields installed?
Thanks in advance,
Lou from Joisey (Exit 16W)

OPen the clamp clear up, it should be a full circle screw type.

place the clamp arounf the header pipe and reatach the end of the clamp to the screw part.

When ya got both clamps on, slip the little 'L' shaped piece under the clamp and tighten it up......

SmokinJoe probably has them on his pipes.  Not sure of that however.

NO, you do not need to drop the pipes.......

I didn't know, till now, Cobra made any shields. I have the Rivco heat shields that came as a set of 6, with the bends as well.

I did just run across these which I assume are what you got:

The Rivco's had spring clips vs the hose clamps. I was able to clip them into place without removing the exhaust, although it may have been easier to do them off of the bike. The spring clips would probably have moved around when trying to re-install though unlike them clamps you got. I hate pulling them puppies.

I would think if you can get in there with an angled bit that you should be able to do it without removing.

Good luck.
