I just ran across this and thought it was worth passing on.

Rules for Kickin' Ass: Rules for the Non-Military Make sure you read #13

Dear Civilians, 'We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation has many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:
1. The next time you see any adults talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem- kick their ass.
2. When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest - kick their ass.
3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.
4. If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling others that you used to be 'Special Forces'. Collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay when you were seven years old, now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.
5. Next time you come across an *Air Force* member, do not ask them, 'Doyou fly a jet?' Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking (children are exempt).
6. If you witness someone calling the Coast Guard 'non-military', inform them of their mistake - and kick their ass.
7. Next time Old Glory (the US flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your
heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her - of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass-kicking.
9. 'Your mama wears combat boots' never made sense to me - stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore would kick your ass!
10. 'Flyboy' (*Air Force*), 'Jarhead' (*Marines*), 'Grunt' (*Army*), 'Squid' (*Navy*), 'Puddle Jumpers'(*Coast Guard*) etc., are terms of endearment we use describing each other.
Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. Using them
could get your ass kicked.
11. Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get its ass kicked.
12. It's the Veteran, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press.
It's the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
It's the Veteran, not the community organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
It's the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.
AND ONE MORE:
13. If you ever see anyone singing the national anthem in Spanish - KICK THEIR ASS.
ONE LAST THING:If you read this and didn't pass it on - guess what - you deserve to get your ass kicked!
If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE feel free to stand in front of them!

OK, I liked what I read but, what happened to #8?

Or, did it get it's ass kicked out?   Wink

I was at a gas station in the early 80's. This idiot punk used the Flag to wipe after checking his oil. Mysteriosly his hood fell and pinned him there for a few seconds. An older guy who saw figured it deserved applause, I was franticaly kicking my Pan head trying to start it and leave.
A few days later I pulled back in for gas.
The nice lady in the booth gave me my change smiled so nicely.
I guess this is #2,a.

What ever sporting event i attend i am not above asking/telling people to remove head gear when the National Anthem plays. Once or twice a younger person has resisted and found out rather quickly that i am not alone. Usually all it takes is one person to remind another person and it awakens something in an older vet of what they know in their heart needs to be done. Couple more terms for Air Force types-zoomy and wing wiper. My brother in law who never served called me a ex swabby one day-TOLD him to never do that again-he did not have the right. Phony can NOT answer the difficult questins that someone who served can. After all these years some of that stuff seems like yesterday. To all who have served to all who are serving and to those that will serve a heart felt and warm THANK YOU FOR YOUR SACRIFICE. Where would this country be if we did NOT have men and women standing at the ready 24/7 to do harm to our enemies?? RIDE SAFE.

The person who made this list must have been Air Force.  I've never heard anyone refer to airdales as flyboys and I'm pretty sure the majority of the Army are not grunts except by Air Force standards.  Squids are squids.  Everyone calls them that and the Coast guard is paramilitary at best.   Grin

Looks like I'm about to get my ass kicked.   2funny

I generally stand at attention for the national anthem but don't place my hand over where my heart should be.

It's a cute list.  I think I've seen a similar one for how to behave in the South.

When I copied and posted that list I didn't notice that number 8 was missing. So I just did a google search and found where it came from and this list does have the number 8. It looks as thought it might have been written by a Marine and not by a member of the Air Force as someone suggested.

It is disturbing to me to have to ask some to remove their hats during our National anthem, but when I have, I've had several say,"yeah, take your hat off".

You may have missed an important note on that site   Wink

Despite whether it was originally compiled by a doggie, jarhead, airdale, squid, or shallow water sailor it's an entertaining list.

And some good items to think about.

I tend to do the same........... But then that's what Uncle Sam's Army taught me to do.

Reminds me of this song...

Fighting Wordspowered by Aeva

First amendment?
Son, the first amendment protects you from the government
Not from me
You can say whatever you want to out there
You come within reach of me
I'll exercise my right to give you a good ol' country ass whoopin'
Is what I'll do for you
By God

I was born in a Navy hospital (NAS Memphis) and grew up on Navy bases.  I was ten years old before I found out that they were really called Marines.

more than once, I have been a mall and saw a teen with an American Flag sewn to the ass of their pants.  I said something to them that it was disrespectful, and you should remove it. He told me to kiss his ### . I followed his group around the mall, hoping to follow them into the parking lot. I ran out of time.
Another time I actually went to tear a flag off a pair of pants (worn by a girl teen) the (now) ex told me I could be arrested for assalt. I raised a little hell, till mall security was called , and they told me to leave as I had no right to say anything about what she was wearing. I asked if either was a Vet. One was , but his job was to keep the peace in the mall. I asked him dirrectly about the disgrace to the flag. No answer. They were going to escort me out of the mall. What about them, they caused me a disturbance, escort them out. I was told that I started the problem , not them.
I HOPE THEIR PARENTS ARE VERY PROUD AF THE DIRTBAGS!!!
