Has anyone tried the Philips X-treme power +80 bulbs?
They claim to be 55/60w with 80% more light output and the reviews are ranking them very good. Only problem is they are only sold overseas.
I was curious about the heat. They claim they are safe for poly headlight lenses.
Anyone know.

Not that exact bulb, although I use the Sylvania Siverstar H-4. It is a 60/55W which is 35% brighter, 30% farther downroad lighting, 35% greater sideroad lighting. It is also a brighter, whiter light. (no melting wires), plug and play I ordered directly from Sylvania on-line.

Another vote for the Sylvania Silverstar, although, I buy mine at Wally World, Meijer, etc. Gonna have to get another one this week. The high beam just went out.

I run the Silverstar H4. i know they say the car version fits the same but I think the element in the motorcycle version is tougher. Funny though, my highbeam is what burned out on my first one too.

Plus one here on the Ultra Silverstar. Had them in for more than a year without a problem. The light is really whiter and they make a huge difference over the stock that I had in!

Any problems with the heat of the bulb and the plastic lens. No problems so far. I installed that bulb last November. I'm hoping for a longer bulb life than the Silverstars, they don't survive long for me. That said, I'm not sure I would use that Osram bulb for an IS, not because of the heat, that bulb is not that big a jump in wattage. The IS has two headlights and it's a pain to replace them. Do a search on the Candlepower site for rough duty H-4 bulbs.
