First post on the message board although I have been reading the board for over two years. Two years ago I purchased a 1997 Green and Creme Tourer. I had put 25,000 miles on a 1998 Honda Magna and have put about 15,000 miles on the Valkyrie. The longest trip on the Valkyrie has been 6000 miles to the west coast of California and back to Virginia. Between the Magna and Valkyrie I've been on 11 of the top 15 AMA best roads in the US. I do my own maintenance except for mounting tires, so the VRCC and the message boards have been very helpful.

However, after reading the message board for two years, I feel like a beginner compared to most of you guys. I 'm hoping to meet some of you down the road in the future. By the way, I'm one of the "Old Guys" that have been talked about on the message board lately.

I live in Richmond. I've seen very few Valks around here on the streets. I went up to New York to get my Tourer. One or two Valks at the 5 Rolling Thunders, none at the Last Teddy Bear Run, and none at the Wreaths Over America. I've ridden a lot with my Goldwing Brother in Law in Kentucky. We meet somewhere and head out. Appreciate the comments, and I'm trying to cultivate some thick skin.

Another comment I forgot to mention. After  reading this message board for two years, questionable questions include: which oil, which tires, which seats, going darkside, when to change timing belts,  which rear spline lube, gas mileage, brake pads. which air filter, and maybe several more that I can't remember.

Welcome, Bill. The best way I can think of to meet people is to get on down to this year's Inzane if you can make it. The staff does a great job keeping us entertained...and there's lots of pretty Valks to look it. There's something always to be learned from the Tech sessions....and some good riding and good fellowship...ok, maybe some BSing too.  Wink
