I'm very saddened to hear of this.

I met Jimmy by email and telephone when he did me a long distance favor a few years back.

My sincere condolences to Jimmy's family and friends.  He was indeed a great guy and will leave a hole in the lives left behind.

A heartfelt Thank You to everyone that has sent prayers and best wishes to his family and friends. The little unofficial information we have is that Jimmy was on his way home and apparently was in a turn and skidded off the road and hit the guardrail and belived to have died instantly. No other vehicle involved. Jimmy was a Vietnam veteran. Services are pending. Myself or BigMac will keep you all posted.

Last February I was riding with a group when another member, Carl Wheeler, ran across the double line and hit an oncoming car head on and was killed instantly. We have lost 2 riders in 11 short months. They were both great friends and great people. Such a sad time for all.

Again, thanks for all the support and well wishes from everyone.

I read that early this morning. I recognize the name, Valkimo, from the early days of the VRCC when "everyone" was on the "this" board. I left for work this morning with a pit in my stomach. Thoughts, with his extended family, and the SoCal group.  sheets

What a shock!  Sadness is the emotion.  As i said on the phone Dave, Jimmy and I live near each other and were talking about riding home together, but i took off early.  We had some good times talking on this ride and even more on the Sequoia Park ride.  We were talking about getting some riding in around the Salton Sea where he lived.

  Very Sad.    Cry Cry

I am sure he would want this to be a lesson to the rest of us to be attentive and ride safe.
