I went out on bike today and decided to head up in mtns to ride through Joshua Tree Nat Park. I pulled up to the entrance and at the booth where they collect $$ and therewas an attractive park ranger probably in her early 40's in the booth. I stopped and put down kickstand so I could get out my wallet with my yearly pass.
She said "wow, that's a beautiful motorcycle!" I immediately knew that she had good taste.

Then she said "they don't make that motorcycle anymore, do they?" She obviously was knowledgable about motorcycles.

She checked my Nat Park pass and thanked me for having a yearly pass and said "thanks for making my day special by getting to see your motorcycle." By now I am beaming.

So as I'm putting wallet back in jacket and getting ready to leave she said "I've never seen one of those before. And it sure is quiet." Well . . . maybe she doesn't know so much about motorcycles. I have Cobra 6x6 exhaust and haven't been accused of being "quiet".

As I rode off I was smiling because I then knew that even though my engine went off when I put down the kickstand, she thought the bike was running with absolutely no noise.

Still it felt good to hear her nice comments and get in about 170 mi.
