Sorry for the crappy pic, took it with my phone. Embarrassed

Got this bike (98 ct) last year off E-bay, one of those bids where you go "It won't sell for that" and it does.  Shocked ???

I'm glad I did, cause it's kept me busy all of this month.

Lots of rust and corrosion. Just about every bolt, nut and screw was removed and cleaned or replaced. All the fenders were back painted so to stop further rusting.  All chrome was soaked in de-rust and hand polished.  The swingarm area was in bad shape, pitting and rusted, so I wire brushed it all down and painted the whole area w/black Rustolium.  Did that years ago on my Black 99 and it still looks pretty good.  Painted the inside of the headlight, it gets kinda rusty in there.  Sanded and painted the bag heat shields plus the back side of the rear brake caliper cover and grab rails.

Rebuilt and polished the front shocks (don't think they have ever been touched tickedoff) and cleaned up the rears.

All new fluids.

Desmog, 38's added, different stock exhaust cause the original needs serious work.  Added lots of chrome do-dads. Waiting on the Bakers.

The original paint is very good to excellent.  I'll need a new wind screen soon, but can borrow from one of my 99's.

Fired her up yesterday  Smiley and she sounds great!!  cooldude cooldude Grin Grin

So, almost done, and I got two things I can't figure out.

One is OEM,where's it go?

One came off the hi-way pegs and is just ugly so I took it off. What's it do?
Thanks

The bottom one is a "stop" that goes on either the right or left Kuryakyn highway peg bracket. It presses up against the bottom of the head to stop the peg bracket from rotating under load.

Okay, now I see.  Still pretty ugly, I'm gonna run with out them for now.  The pegs are shot anyways, peeling big time.  I'll be replacing them sometime.

HOOK....The stops that go on the Kury pegs....You can just leave them off, cause they won't stop the brackets from rotating anyway.

That is totally my favorite paint scheme.  Can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks Fudd.  At first I wasn't that crazy about the color, but it's grown on me and now I really like it. I can't wait to finish.   We had alot of rain today, so if the sun comes out tomorrow, I'm taking her out for a trial run.
