Wow, new bike purrs like a kitten after cleaning all the carbs.
Finally got up the nerve to fix that annoying pop in #3 an found was indeed clogged , slow jet . Clean em all and I can't believe the difference in made in the low end speed. Even sounds like a new bike. I got her with 50k and have put 4k since. Using the tech board as a guide ( rejetting ) I crossed my fingers and pulled the bank. The guide says u don't have to completely remove the bank but I really think it would have been harder to work on. The throttle and choke cables were the only thing to do to remove all the way. The cables were the easy part. I had to remove the plastic cowling behind the fan to remove and it was more of a pain than anything. I didn't mess with changing the slow jets because I was just wanting to see if it would still run after the cleaning. If changing to 38 jets will make it run better yet u won't ever get this smile  off my face. You're opinions and advice always appreciated . I couldn't have done it without this site and all ya'lls help !
One happy camper !!!!!!! Mofla

Now that you're done figthing with that !@#%!@ plastic cowl behind the radiator, i'll tell you that dropping the Left rear upper motor mount  and moving the left coil is MUCH easier.

Gives you a case of the grins every time you get on it now eh?!  Grin

I had the same results as you, and that is why I generally recommend to just bite the bullet and pull the carb bank and do a complete overhaul. It keeps you from constantly chasing down the multiple little problems that slowly rob us of the exceptionally smooth and powerful performance that we expect. Not saying that it is always necessary, but I could really tell that there were 15 year old seals in my 97 Tourer, and the difference between before and after was all too obvious. I did go with 38's instead of cleaning the 35's so she starts much easier and low end is stronger, but I did take a slight hit in the mpg's. Except for an occasional sync, I figure I wont have to deal with them for another 10 or so years now.

+1 What YP said about the motor mount.

Just a personal note here from experience. Replace all the o-rings on the short tubes between each carb. You can buy the viton o-rings ahead of time. There threads on here to help with this. At the time I was forced to do mine I was able to find o-rings of the correct size at my local hardware store. 12,000 miles and no problem to date.

Those are the fuel rails.

The seals you call O-rings  are not actually round as was posted some time ago on this forum.

A search ought to reveal this.

Not criticism, just correcting an inaccuracy.

I had originally thought the same as you also.
