Danny Williams was a major part of the Great American Beer Festival, which takes place in Denver every fall. Danny was in charge of organizing and sorting the beer submitted,  from  breweries around the country, for judging at the GABF.  I had the privilege of helping sort beer and working with Danny for 5 years.  His knowledge of beer was incredible. He knew the brew masters at most, if not all, micro breweries on a first name basis.

He bought some property, several years ago, in a old mining ghost town outside of Boulder Colorado.  On this land was an old gold mine, that he stored over 3000 bottles of beer, in order to let the beer age like a fine wine.

He will be missed.

Please raise your next glass of beer in honor of Danny

Dave

I have had some fine beers and met some great people in the area. I'm sure that Danny was an influence on both.  Sad R.I.P

That sure is a bummer, sorry to hear.  Just got home from La Cumbre brewery. My buddy Jeff Erway is the owner/brewer. Last year he won gold medal in the IPA category. 273 entries. Best IPA in America and I get to enjoy it here in Albuquerque any time I want. cooldude

I taught a homebrew class for 11 years. Maybe I will bring a corney keg to the New Mexico Ride In in Las Vegas NM this Memorial Weekend. If I do, give me some ideas of what I should make. HMMMMMMM maybe I'll brew up a batch of "Dragon Drool".....
