Turn signal relay

I am installing a Kisan signal minder and am having trouble finding the flasher.  I can hear the blinker noise but can nor get my hands on it. There are a half dozen relays just in front of the battery but none of them are clicking.  Shop manual just points to the general area.  Does anyone have a picture or better diagram?

Open the right side cover and find the orange wire and the blue wire.  You'll see where they have accessable connectors before going aft via the tail light harness.

I made my own minder for $6 with a Radio Shack 12v mini piezo siren (273-079), two 1 amp
diodes and some insulating spagetti.  WORKS GREAT.

  Remove the rightside cover and they are behind
the battery box. They also my have a rubber cover
on them. It,s been a while. I also turned on blinker
and could feel it operate after finding it.
  It will be easier if you remove the coolent
tank.

Remove the left side cover and it's to the left of the overflow tank up high beside the battery ,it  is in a rubber jacket that slides on a horizontal support.

You folks refer to blinker relay(s) as "them" - is there one for each side?  - I'm having trouble with the left blinker taking very long to activate especially in cold weather, while the right works fine.  Bike is new to me and I haven't got my hands on a manual yet.  So, two relays or one?  -thanks in advance

There's only one turn signal relay.  You can get to it from either side by removing the side covers, but I found it a tad easier to get to it from the left side.  It's a bitch to get to as it's buried up about in the middle of everything......but it is in there.  You might find it a little easier to get to if you remove the overflow bottle...which ain't all that easy to get out of there either, but it will come out.

KO - thanks.  I looked at the OEM parts breakdown and only found one, but you clarified it.  Thanks.  I'm thinking of springing for the OEM shop manual - had all the others for my other bikes, but I think this bike is a lifetime partner.  And I've got to figure out why the left blinker has a delay - might be a bad ground perhaps.

You just need to take the blinker switch assy apart and clean out the old dried out grease, lightly re-lube with a dielectric grease
and it will work another 10 years......don't know why it picks on the left side more than the right, just did mine....works fine.

Once you find the flasher module (behind the overflow bottle from the left side) you'll see that the flasher is exposed to moisture from the rear wheel. Now look at the Signal Minder and you'll see that it's not waterproof. You need to protect it from moisture by bagging it carefully. If it gets wet your blinkers will wack out at least until the unit dries. If you have an I/S then be prepared for buzzing in your audio system under all conditions. If you use helmet speakers it will test your sanity. I lived with this for several years and  just removed mine about a week ago. The good news is that the required mods to the front turn signal wiring and springs in the turn signal switch are easily reversible. I installed a Blinker Buddy in my seat as my reminder. It's pretty hard to ignore on a bike as smooth as the Valkyrie!

Hey, thanks guys!  I took apart the switch just to look at it, but didn't clean it up.  I'll try that first.
