Well, if I had a Starbucks near me, I would go and order a coffee today!

The anti-gun groups idea that law abiding people like you and me are the violence problem in the US sickens me.   That somehow, if I have a gun with me,  I will walk into Starbucks, or elsewhere, and start blasting away at innocents.

Just a couple of numbers from Facebook:
NGAC total "likes" 170
NRA total "likes" 1,293,878

From what I can gather about NGAC, they are just the more radical arm of the Brady Center.  The two organizations are linked by common members on their board of directors.

The NRA has Ted Nugent on their board of directors and had Charlton Heston as president.  How can anyone beat and organaztion featuring Moses and the Motor City Madman?  I am guessing this article is the first time anyone has heard of NGAC.  I'm not concerned....  Go get some coffee!

My daughter came home with a 24 hour bug last night.
She made "NGAC" sounds all night.

I don't even like Starbucks coffee! But if I'm in the area when this boycott is going on, not only will I buy coffee there, I'll also be carrying as well!

I've set foot in a Starbucks once in my life, but if the boycott gains any traction at all, I'd be all in for a BUYcott as well...

Guess I gotta drive 20 miles for coco.

Guess the anti's tried this before in the past and had no luck. A few gun groups have 'meeting' there all the time since they are gun friendly.

Unfortunatly for those that Open-carry in CA it has now been made illegal.

But, I will be showing my support to Starbucks by purchasing a coffee or two while I CCW my .45 cal

Those of us lucky enough to live in NorCal can get CCW permits quite easily.
In fact the news reported this morning that there is a back log of permit requests in to the Sacramento Co Sheriff Dept., they are getting 40 to 50 a day.
The Sheriff says that if the background checks are okay the approval rate is about 95%

I've been boycotting Star(BIG)bucks since 9-11-01 when the manager of the Star(BIG)bucks charged people fleeing the carnage, for water.

I'll make an acception on 2-14-12.

I openly and freely invite anyone to boycott my business at F6Rider.com. I don’t carry a gun nor own a gun. Personally I have a fear on guns, but that is me. I feel I have no business attacking owners of guns as it is a constitutionally personal liberty.

A quote from Thomas Jefferson;
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. Was the government to prescribe to us our medicine and diet, our bodies would be in such keeping as our souls are now. I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” (Quoting Cesare Beccaria)

The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.

Like an idiot, I had an in depth conversation with an anti-gun person.  After some time and a headache, these two point emerged as her argument:

1) Multiple fatalities or wounds caused by a single person can only occurr with the use of a gun.  Giving several examples of a signle person hurting multiple people with other weapons meant absolutely nothing.

2) She believed that outlawing guns will eventually make its way to the bad guys.  This one sent me off the wall.  She is anti-gun because she is afraid harm may come to her or her family, therefore, nobody should have them.  When I stated that Dr. Petit, who's wife and 2 girls were raped and murdered by home intruders, could have protected his family had he been armed, she said "So everyone should own a gun in case the boogie man comes?"  On one hand she's afraid and wants them outlawed, on the other hand, she thinks crimes like Petit's are perpetrated by imaginary beings.

KUDOS to Starbucks.  cooldude

If I drank coffee I'd go get a cup right now.

I found it interesting that all of the comments were positive towards Starbucks.

The following link is to a letter that one of the commentators refers to:

http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/the-gun-is-civilization/blog-305143/

A very interesting and very true read.

SNOPES has nothing about this so you can pretty much bet that it is true. As Snopes tends to not address things that it's liberal bias doesn't agree with and can't disprove.

For someone to believe that guns being illegal would eventually filter down to denying weapons to the criminal is crazy.  Hell, cocaine has been illegal for years and years, but most of us reading these posts could probably buy it within a mile of where we are right now.  The old saying, when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns, still holds true.

The wife & I drink Starbucks coffee every morning.  We grind it at home and make 12 cups of the stuff.  What we don't drink with breakfast, we take to work in an insulated tumblers.  One way or another, it all gets consumed.  Good stuff from a good company...Jim Cheesy Cheesy
