I know, I know it was a Harley show but it was still neat. A guy and very hott looking young lady,  coolsmiley  set out from LA to DC hitting some points of interest along the way. They stop every so often and get a new 09 HD to take on the trip. They try out different models on the whole trip. Him and Hottie each ride their own. They stop and visit factories and explain how the bikes are made. Per them, their really longest day was 400 miles.  Shocked I only caught the middle of the show but thought it was neat. Check it out.

Yep. It has been on a few times. They visit the Harley proving grounds in Phoenix. Looks like the old Williams AFB area. Pretty cool. I know when I lived in Phoenix the summer time along with traffic would cook the back cylinder. They came up with a way to deal with it I found pretty neat. When the bike is stopped it runs on one piston, and the back one turns into a air pump cooling the rear cylinder. They claim it seamlessly kicks in when you give it some throttle. My only thought was how rough they idle with two cylinders, I cant imagine one.

Heard that. They also got electronic throttle instead of the cables. They seem to like it.

In a humorous, cynical light, they weren't trying out new models on the major legs of the trip.  They were replacing the previous one due to breakdowns.  Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.  Cheesy

Hope to have the time to do such a trip sometime.  Not a bad show for an infomercial.

I'd be willing to bet that they didn't actually ride that whole distance, at least not just those two. For the footage they shot and the expense of the film crews and other support people I just don't see it happening. If I were going to that expense I would have shot a mini series. Too much scenery and too many things too see in that much distance!

You never know what kind of shortcuts were taken in production.
