Here's me and my old buddy... I grew up with Max... He lived to a ripe age of 15 yrs.
He was in his prime in this pix...
You can't tell But that's me holding him... angel
My gosh he had papers a mile long... He weighted 150+ lbs...
You can't tell in the photo but he does have a star on his forehead...
I do miss that big ole galoot....
I used him as a pillow many a time  in front of the fireplace as a kid...
He was also raised with ,poodles, siamese cats ,and a Squirrel monkey

I had an all black one like that in college. When I met my wife and she said she always felt secure when I worked the night shift with him in the house. He was a big baby but I am sure he would have taken anyone that tried to harm my wife. My dad did not care so much for him when we came home to visit, he gave my wife a poodle. He later told me he figured we would only keep one dog and it would be her's. The shepard went to Wisconsin to be a cop(dog).

Shepards have always been my favorite.  I've had 3.  Wish I could come off the road to have another.  My first  was in Germany.  Full blood, complete papers, everything.  At the time I was being shipped back to the States.  I had 4 weeks to outprocess and found out my shepard had to be in quarintine for 4 weeks in Germany and 4 more in the States.  I tried to argue the point but I was only a sargent in the Air Force.  It broke my heart I couldn't take Rex back with me.  Smart animals too.  Rex, of course, understood German and even learned a lot of English commands in a very short time.  I do miss him at times.  My second I had for 4 weeks then a divorce came up.  My third, Shadow, I had or 6 years then that divorce thing came up.  I will get another one though, I don't give up too easy.  Both dogs and relationships 2funny. Cmon, some of ya'll were thinking that. Grin
