Hey guys,
While surfing around different bike part sites many months ago I stumbled on a custom made set of mounting brackets that would lower the Valkyrie drivers foot pegs. I though I had the page bookmarked but did not. I am now starting to have back issues on the left side and would like see about reducing the tight angle that us tall riders experience. Has anybody out there seen these or are using these and can help me with my search and give feed back?

Sounds like Rattlebars' peg relocation kit. No longer in production. Keep an eye out for them on Classifieds here and EBay. Usually runs around $100 if you can find it. Good luck! www.rattlebars.comDave |

Brian, Being 6'-5" I have hiway pegs, I also have Mick-O-Pegs. I have found the lowering kit drags if you do a lot of carving. The are great for straight line. As for the Mick-O-Pegs, they are great for the straight too. When you go through the twisties, you normally have your feet on the regular pegs. The Mick-O-Pegs are spring loaded and lift up and dont drag. Well not to bad....LOL... http://www.ridingiswonderful.com/ |

Thanks guys for the quick responses,
I looked at Mike's site last night I will e-mail him. I even thought about making my own but couldn't remember what the profile looked like. I really don't care if they are chromed being the low gloss black would blend in with the frame.
The mick-o-pegs look great too but do not seem to look like they help much with city driving constantly shifting between lights.
I sure appreciate the help. Thanks for the links.

on the valkyriebling site, where are you seeing the drivers peg lowering brackets? all i see is the chromed passenger peg brackets.

Made my own from some 1/4 x 2 flatbar. It wasn't very hard and I painted them gloss black to blend into the frame. You don't even notice them.

I would suggest holding off purchasing these or floorboards for that matter. You lose a good portion of your "lean angle" when you install either one of these and if you add both you will scrape those "once beautiful floorboards". I would recommend riding another bike that has them installed. It could be where you realize you don't want them. Then again I guess you could always resell them if you don't like them. I installed a set on a friends valk and road his bike about five miles and didn't care much for them. I scraped just taking this right turn onto the on ramp and a slow speed. http://g.co/maps/ve2t6You make the choice but I would suggest just investing in some good highway pegs and be done with it. |

I love floorboards for the comfort. Had them on my last cruiser, so, one of the first things I did after buying my Valk was to install the lowering kit and Cobra floorboards. I also have Kury pegs on engine guards.
I have had them for 9-10 months and have yet to scrape them.
Some might say I don't ride aggressively. I suppose I would agree but, however I ride, seems natural to me. My Valk is not a sports bike and would not handle like one if I tried to ride it that way.

I plan to make my own set after seeing what the mounting plates look like and what they are going for on ebay. The auctions closed at over $100 so other riders are looking for these. It appears that the bolt pattern drops the pegs 1" and are the three horizontal holes 1/2" or 3/8" apart moving the pegs forward?
One of these auctions were placed by Mike, he wants $111 plus shipping, we contacted him.
I have the steel flat bar as of today finding a piece on the pipe rack at work.
Any help here is greatly appreciated.

I had one eye on those kits as well, but the shipping to Wa listed as over $42 bucks...so there is no way that was correct..only cost 30 to ship my Ultimate seat from Fl to Wa. At any rate, if I really decide I need em, I'll just make some..should cost less than five bucks.

I think I will make a template first out of wood. Easier to cut. 10-4 on using stock bracket for the holes and know that, it was the spacing on the other holes that would move the foot pegs forward. Just thought I would ask and will experiment. Thanks, |
