I did post it on the tech board also not much response so i'll ask over here also took my rear wheel off for some maintenance and found that i could pull the right side wheel bearing out with my fingers what do ya think?
The wheel is chromed don't know if maybe there was chrome in there and has worn away leaving it loose?
Will a new bearing fit better?

Robin, you don't want that race spinning in the hup, it will ruin the wheel....try a new bearing and if it fits tight all is good...if not try burring the inside of the hup to make it fit tight, I've done this a few times and solved the problem...and yes sometimes they do get the chrome on the inside, but usually this will stop the bearing from going in....I hope it works out well for ya... cooldude

You can also take a feeler gauge break off the correct thickness and put it in about 1/2 way then tap in the bearing. May take more than one try.

Another old Machinist Trick is to take a center punch, a pointed one, then with hammer in hand, dimple it evenly

by striking the punck with even blows.

This will raise up some metal to grab that outside diameter and make it fit tight.

Also a gun trick is to use lock tight once you get it fitting better.

This will lock it in place and you will still be able to remove it later with regular tools.

It worked for Lucky 13 and I only dimpled it in 4 places evenly spaced inside the place that the bearing usually resides

in the wheel.

You need more, try eight spots at first, dimpled to raise the metal and check for fit.

The aluminum wheel is soft so don't go crazy on hte dimpling.

It will work.

I spoke to JP today and asked him about the wheel and he suggested finding a machinist and cut the wheel and fit it with brass sleeve.
Well it just so happens that my lovely wife works with a girl who's husband has a shop not to far from my work so i called him about it and he said no problem as he told me they do aerospace work and that would be a simple thing for them to do.I love it when i get lucky sometimes cooldude

Thanks for all your replies good info to tuck away in the old memory banks

I posted you something on the tech board. Had the same thing happened to my chrome rim. Posted a fix for it.
