Is there enough fuel just in the carbs to cause hydrolok?

I'm going to install a fuel filter and prolly a Danmark solenoid.  But I wonder, after all that if the float needles leak is it enough to cause a problem?

I think the answer is yes don't forget the fuel line capacity.
Someone will correct me if that is wrong I don't have time
to do a search.

I do not believe a petcock has to be defective for a fuel-lock to occur.. There is not much to worry about the fuel that is in the fuel bowls, its the fuel above the needle valve that is the issue.. There is enough fuel in the supply lines to lock a cylinder..
I'm one of the folks that does not like the original petcock. I'm a fan of the Pingle.. I also believe in installing an in-line filter.. I also just tap the starter button..

I turn off the petcock (a manual pingle BTW) when I am about a mile from home, this gets rid of most of the fuel that is in the supply lines and carb.  Hoser  Smiley

So the stopcock is working but a needle valve is leaking.

With this scenario the question is:

Is there enough gasoline in the lines and available to cause a hydrolock.

I don't think so.

First, the carburetor, at operational level still has room for more gasoline before it will start to find way to the intake riser.

The remaining available gasoline is a very small amount and will not be enough to cause the lock-up.

I just ordered Pingel and the Dan Marc solenoid.  In line filter next.

Triple protection.........I don't know what else I could do within reason.

+1  i have just recieved my dan marc and pingel in the mail today, i just can not find a 3/8 golan fuel filter anywhere, they are on back order, but i am going to get one!!!! in the process of fixing a hydro lock, new starter gear, went ahead and replaced the float valves, 35 to 38 jets and dynojet needles stage 1, new intake o rings, and new carb bowl gaskets
